Unbroken

The inflammation accompanied

heavy breaths,

Tip toed these moans

in the silence,

Patience walked along

the unbearable torture

In the camp.

The ribs protruding through the skin,

Did not let the heart slow down,

But increased the zest of pride

in those arms.

The legs were known for its potential

But still they did not run away,

As the blood of determination ran

through the veins.

The orders were not easy,

And so was not this deep seated mind,

Which kept itself unbroken

On that harsh land.

I hold great interest in keeping track with history as it fascinates me and I love to collect information about the World War and I am always in the search of information regarding it.

So here I have another story of a brave and a stot hearted man, U.S army officer and an Olympic athlete, Louis Zamperini (1917-2014) who survived through the torture of the Japanese army during the World War II.

It is a very inspirational and a very captivating story, written by Laura Hillenbrand and if you are not a great fan of novels, you should definitely watch the movie Unbroken.
The main lead has acted so well and he almost bought the scene alive on the screen.

So this poem is dedicated to all the army men who survived or still survive through such adverse situations in the name of war.
