Shiro and Kuro took to the colossal trees the moment the second phase of the exam started. The object of the second phase of the exam was to collect both a heaven and an earth scroll and make it to the building in the center of the forest. Each team was given either a heaven or earth scroll and had to obtain the other scroll from another team. Concentrating on the sounds of the forest around her she was able to make out the sounds of various wildlife and even fellow applicants. A small wicked smile wormed onto her lips as she picked up on the sound of the irritating Dog Boy and his mangy mut. He'd be fun to pick on and an easy target to steal a scroll from, though his teammates seemed nice and she didn't want to hinder them in the process.
"Shiro, what do you hear?" Mace called to her from the ground below as he and Layla watched the cat like girl grinning mischievously.
"I bet she found Kiba." Layla giggled.
"He's an easy target, let's go we'll be the first ones to finish." Shiro giggled before flitting through the trees.
"Shiro! Not so fast! We can't keep up!" Mace and Layla yelled as their feline friend raced off with Kuro in toe. They lost Shiro and Kuro in a matter of seconds.
Shiro flitted through the trees resisting the urge to giggle, she was almost on them. Her sensitive ears picked up on the sound of three others, confronting Kiba's team. She slowed to a stop a few trees away from where they were standing facing off against three strong looking shinobi they had different marking on their headbands. It looked like they were from the Hidden Rain village. Being from the Nekota Clan Shiro's hearing, eyesight and agility were all heightened. Her eyes zeroed in on the group as she listened to what was being said.
The guys from the Hidden Rain village were preparing to attack, but something about them sounded off. They were water clones! Shiro noticed their true forms sneaking up behind the group with kunai at the ready. They weren't just after the scroll, they were trying to seriously hurt them! These guys were bad news.
"Kuro, transform." Shiro breathed as her nails turned to claws and she felt her ears shift to fluffy white cat ears, a long sleek white tail appeared behind her increasing her balance and agility. "Let's go!" She flipped off her branch propelling herself with enough speed that she appeared in the air above the trio of leaf genin. Her body twisted and contorted in a spinning flip before landing swiftly on the ground behind Hinata just in time to catch a kunai the enemy had thrown. "Need a hand, Dog Breath?" Shiro smirked over in Kiba's direction swinging the kunai from her clawed index finger.
Kuro landed a moment later and decimated the three water clones with a single swipe of his massive paw before letting out a roar that shook the ground at their feet. Hinata, Kiba and Shino turned to the cat like girl surprised by her sudden appearance before facing the real enemy.
"Nobody asked you, Kitty Litter!" Kiba snarled.
Shiro shot a glare in his direction, "Don't call me that, Flea Bag!"
"Thank you, S-Shiro-san." Hinata said softly as she realized the cat like girl had saved her from injury.
Shiro smiled to the shy girl with the short dark blue hair and the strange lavender pupil less eyes. "You don't have to thank me or address me formally, I'm only here to help because I knew the mangy mut over there was useless."
"You want to fight, Hairball?!" Kiba growled.
Shiro giggled, "Don't worry, Fido, I'll save you this time." She lunged forward as the three rain ninja made their move trying to take advantage while the two were bickering.
