Chapter Nineteen

I still can't believe what happened. It's almost like a dream. I never expected it to happen. And now, I've been avoiding Seth since it happened. Won't talk to him. We found Bullet, and when I told him what happened, he gave me this disgusted look, almost like Seth used my black out to get up close and personal. Great.

"Did he really?" asked Justin after I told him.

"Yea" I said.

"That's weird. He's never showed his feelings like that to anybody. Never. Not once. This whole year he's been hiding in his room, not wanting to get too close to you. And now a kiss?" said Justin.

"Wait a minute. He said he was the only one who knew that it wasn't me the whole time" I said.

"Probably, I don't know. If he did he certainly didn't tell any of us" said Justin. Something about this whole situation seems off to me. Why would I black out for a whole year, end up in The Void, be kissed by the one person who wants me dead more than she does, only to find out he lied about it and is still an over emotional psycho? This can't be right.

"Since when did we survive for a whole year? Weren't we supposed to be the geeks?" I asked.

"Yea. It's weird. I thought for sure I'd be dead within the first few hours but now I'm saving the world" said Justin. "I mean seriously, who survives the guardian tests to begin with? Certainly not me." And the truth comes out. This is either a dream or some sort of nightmare, or flashback. Mountain, I want out.

"Summer? Are you ok?" asked Justin. I gave him a look.

"Do you know where we are?" I asked. He just looked at me, puzzled. "Do you remember how we met?"

"What are you talking about? We met when we were kids. We've been best friends forever" he said slowly.

Mountain, I know you can hear me. Tell me this is a dream. Pull me out. I don't want to be here anymore. I want to be with my old friends, in my old time. I want to be back where I was. Please bring me back.

"Summer.......?" asked Justin. I started crying.

"This isn't right. We met all because I showed you how to make a makeshift bomb. We never knew each other before we got chosen to be in the Cold. We've been trying to find answers and the truth about it for months. Justin, please tell me I am crazy and just over thinking things. I want to go back" I said.

"I don't know what you're talking about" he said.

"Yes you do. If I can be a different person and all of a sudden know who I was, or am, or will be, so can you" I said.

"Summer-"

"Ariel is a small town girl. You have never officially met each other, but you guys are both so nice that it doesn't matter. She's so small yet so fierce. She's a warrior" I explained.

Justin just sat there. "We met Von first. He was a masked soldier, but I guess he got fired for helping us. He's strong, yet sweet. Nothing in the world could tear him down" I explained.

Summer, wake up.

"Seth and I hate each other, but would still fight for each other if we had the chance. He's conceited, but he makes up for it with his ability to know the difference between friends, and enemies" I continued. Justin still stared at me.

Summer, you must wake up now, before it's too late.

"You. You and your friend wanted to make a bomb, but you weren't doing it right. So I stepped up and told you how, and we've been friends ever since. You're smart, funny, and would die for any of your friends any day. Even if they hurt you. Your calm, sweet, and my best friend" I explained. A tear rolled down his face.
