The Odd Ball -minizerk AU-

I ran up to the tree house and started to climb up, that was before I heard two people talking. I stopped in place on the ladder and overheard what they were saying.

"It wa....wasn't you....your fau....fault." Josh said, and I was guessing he was saying that to Tobi.

"That's what you say, but now here I am hanging out with the people that led Lewis to do what he did." I heard Tobi say confirming my suspicions.

"The....then why d...do you ha...hang out wi...with the....them?" I heard Josh ask.

"You know why, I can't leave him behind with them. I love him and he doesn't even realise what those guys are truly like." Tobi said back, and a million questions filled my mind.

The biggest question I had was, who was Tobi in love with?

"The...then wh...why ar...are you he...here?" Josh asked, sounding more anxious than earlier.

"Because what if Simon is like them? What if Simon draws you in just like Harry did and it's all just a joke? What if what happened to Lewi-"

"No!" I heard Josh yell, "He's...not, he's...not...like them."

The last part he stuttered in between words, but he made sure to pronounce the words fully without stuttering.

"I....I love him." He said only stuttering once between saying I.

Hearing him say those words, hearing him say it so crisp and clean killed me on the inside. I felt frozen for a couple seconds. Unable to breathe or even move. I didn't know what to do at that moment in time.

"You love him?" Tobi asked back.

"Yes." He said, just as crisp as before.

"Remember when you said that about Harry?" Tobi stated, almost harshly back.

I pretended like I heard nothing and went up the ladder fully this time. I opened up the hatch and that's when they both went quiet.

"Si...Simon!" Josh said in shocked.

"Just grabbing my guitar, don't worry." I said as Josh nodded his head.

I looked over to Tobi, he looked almost scared even worried. I just brushed it off and grabbed my guitar.

"I was wondering, would you be down to go to a concert tonight?" I asked Josh as he nodded his head incredibly fast.

"Of....of cour.....course I...I'll go. Who....who's pla.....playing?" He asked as I smiled.

"I am. I want you to hear this song that I wrote." I said as he smiled.

"I'l...I'll be th....there." He said making me also smile.

"I'll be there too." Tobi said almost protectively.

"I guess I'll see you guys there then." I said as I then left to go write the lyrics for the song.

I found a spot where it was pretty silent and incredibly sunny. It was on the field and there was really no one around. All I could here was the sound of the wind and little birds chirping. It was perfect to write a song.

I looked at the notes for the best that Mr. Brown had made for us. It was pretty simple and they were all notes that I still memorised. For the most part I remember almost all of the notes, just not some of the more advanced notes.

I started to strum the notes and everything just seemed to come together at that moment. The song started to almost just write itself and it all just flowed out so easily. I was going to finally and hopefully find out what is going on with Josh, then I'll tell him how I feel.
