"Hecate's sending an Iris message!" Annabeth yelled. The shimmery rainbow focused into an image of the goddess.
"Milady Hecate," Hazel said.
"Hey, with all due respect, is there any reason for this call? I've got homework due in for tomorrow that I've been procrastinating," said Percy.
"Percy!" Annabeth slapped his arm. "You've had all weekend."
"Your point is?"
"Apologies on behalf of my idiotic boyfriend," said the blonde.
"I'm sure you've all had a lot of work. Have you found anything as of use?"
"I did!" Luna pulled a book from her bag and held it up. "I found this!"
"Excellent. What is it about?"
"It's about wizarding history and genetics, but it doesn't say anything about you, milady."
"Well, I'll have to speak to Professor McGonagall about updating the educational material. Thank you, Miss Lovegood."
"The classes are really fun, milady," Annabeth inputted. "I might spend some time in the library over the Christmas break. That is, if everyone else is staying."
"I'll stay," said Nico.
"Yeah, me too!" Will added, obviously going wherever Nico was.
Percy snuggled closer to Annabeth. "Sorry, Wise Girl. My mom wants me home for Christmas. You can come with me if you want?"
"As much as I'd love to spend Christmas with you and your family, I want to experience this too."
"Oh. That's okay!" Percy said cheerfully. "If you don't write me every single day, I'm gonna . . . Uh, what am I gonna do?"
"Give me a big hug and kiss when you come back?"
"Yes!"
"I'm gonna go and be with my dad," Piper exclaimed. "If that's okay, Jason?"
"I'll come with you, if you want?" Jason smiled.
"Uh, yeah!"
"I sure hope it does!" Leo screamed from the other side of the room.
Hecate shook her head. "Well, I've got a meeting with the Empousai so I must dash. Enjoy your holidays."
She swiped through the Iris message and it dissolved.
"So, Percy, about that homework . . . " Annabeth drew swirls on his arm in a flirty fashion that was very unlike Annabeth. Percy sighed.
"Fine! What do I get in return?"
"You'll see!"
"'What do I get in return?' 'You'll see!' Title of your sex tape," Leo interjected, causing an uproar.
"Leo!"
"Oh my god!"
"Young ears here!"
"Disgusting."He giggled before turning back to the tiny project in his hands. Everyone else began their own conversations.
"Hey, Leo!" Thalia leaned over his shoulder. "What're you working on?"
He snatched it out of her eyesight.
"Nah-ah-ah! All in due course, my friend. All in due course."
"Right. Christmas presents."
"No! No, not at all, haha, why would you think that-" He stopped abruptly as something smacked the window, then started silently laughing as Nico shrieked and jumped behind Will. The room watched as a tiny owl holding a letter three times the size of itself hop up onto the windowsill then start pecking at the window. Piper made her way over to the window and slid it open.
"Hey, Percy? It's for you," she said while untying the ribbon around it. She gave the owl a tiny stroke before it took off again. She handed him the scroll, and he began to read:
"'Go to the edge of the Frigging-'"
"Forbidden."
"Thank you, Annabeth. 'Forbidden Forest at 9pm sharp.'"
"Who's it from?" Calypso tried to peer at it.
"There's no name."
"Oh."
"Oh, wait. 'P.S. Go alone.' The hell?"
"That's so weird. Take Riptide just in case." Jason suggested.
"Gee, hadn't thought of that . . . " Even though he knew it was in there, Percy patted his pocket just in case.
"I don't know if we should trust it," Annabeth looked at Percy with worry in her eyes.
"Well, it's in school grounds, for one, and also I'm a naturally curious person at heart? So honestly, even if it wasn't on school grounds, I'd still go." Percy rested his head on Annabeth's shoulder and closed his eyes.
"Hey!" Annabeth said, flicking his forehead gently, "Homework?"
"Yeah, in a minute . . . " he mumbled, already half asleep.
Annabeth shook her head, but slumped back a bit so he'd be a bit more comfortable.
"Ooh, I'm gonna take a nap-"
"Have," Annabeth interrupted Leo.
"What?"
"It's 'have' a nap, not 'take' a nap. What are you taking?"
"Oh, shut up!" Leo snapped, in a very un-Leo like way. Then he blinked. "I'm so sorry! I'm just really stressed and tired, I've been up working on everyone's Christmas presents really late for a few days and on top of lessons and homework it's bee-"
"Leo!" Hazel called.
"Mhm?"
"It's fine! You know what, take your weird little projects, go upstairs and have a nap!" She looked at Annabeth proudly.
"Fine. Cal, can you come with?"
"I mean, I'm not that tired, but uh, sure!"
Leo grinned grabbed Calypso's hand and dragged her up the stairs to the girls' dormitories.
"Do you think he knows about-?" Frank began.
"Nope! Not at all."
The group watched as Leo and Cal slid to the floor in a heap. Grumbling, Leo brushed himself off and flipped off the staircase-now-slide.
"What the hell's that about? That's not on!" He yelled.
"Leo," Cal said softly. "The boys can't go in the girls' dorms."
"But why? That's totally unfair-oh wait."
"Yeah."
"Oh! Well, uh," he mumbled. "Boys' dorm? Might smell a bit."
A chorus of "Hey!"s erupted from the room.
"He has a fair point," Thalia said, not looking at any of them.
"What d'you mean? Thalia, what've you been doing?" Nico glared at her. She turned to them again before bursting out laughing.
"I haven't been in there! I just know guys."
"Since when? You're a Huntress."
"Just because I'm a Huntress and swore off dating guys doesn't mean I don't know a single one. I'm talking to you guys right now."
"Did you guys know that iron has a melting point of one thousand, five hundred and thirty eight degrees Celsius?"
Everyone turned to face Leo.
"You what?"
"Where did that come from?"
"Did we need to know?""Wait, did I say that out loud?"
"Yes!"
"Huh. Well, you learn something new every day, right? I'm so tired my brain can't even process its own thoughts. Aight, see you guys later!" Leo gave a little wave before shooting a finger gun at Frank and heading up to the boys' dorms."Uh . . . Does anyone wanna try Gobstones?" Connor Stoll held up a set.
