The following day, RJ woke up, feeling more determined to meet his new neighbor. He finally got his chance when he went outside to get something from his car and she was taking out the garbage. He immediately went over to introduce himself to Dei.
"Good morning!" RJ said a bit eagerly.
Dei was startled, but recovered her composure quickly.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." RJ said.
"Oh, that's ok! No worries!" Dei said and smiled, displaying a perfect set of pearly whites.
"Hi, I'm RJ! I just wanna welcome you to the neighborhood." RJ said, extending out his hand to Dei.
"Hi, RJ! I'm Dei!" Dei laughed while shaking RJ's hand. "Thanks for the warm welcome, but actually, I used to live here back in the day. As a matter of fact, I used to live in your house."
"Really?" RJ said "We, well, my parents, actually, bought this house when I was young. I remember, the old owners had a little girl who was about the same age as me. Was that you?"
"Yup, that's me!" Dei said, laughing, and RJ joined her.
"Anyway...do you need any help getting settled in?" RJ asked.
"I'm good. Thanks for the offer, though." Dei said.
"Oh, ok. If you need anything...anything at all...just let me know..." RJ smiled.
"Thanks. I'll keep that in mind." Dei said and smiled back.
"Well...I better go...maybe we can go out for a drink, or dinner, or something some time?" RJ asked hopefully.
"Sure! Why not?" Dei said, smiling.
"Great! Catch you later then!" RJ said.
"Thanks! See you later!" Dei said, then turned around to go back inside the house.
RJ went back to his own house, smiling from ear to ear, as if he has won the lottery!
