Tiredness began to wear me down as I continued to work on my invention for Black Hat. Six hours had passed by since he locked me in here. My stomach grumbled in hunger, but I ignored it as I continued working. I smiled to myself at the progress I was making, and I believed that this would impress him.

Suddenly, I stopped as I realized something. Why would I want to impress him? He's a villain.

He's keeping you off the streets, I told myself.

I shook my head, and began to continue my work. However, more thoughts filtered my head. Is he the only one here? Did he have other henchmen? If so, what happened to them? A new thought flashed through my mind, and once again I stopped.

Where did Flint go?

I thought that I had met someone who actually wanted to be my friend, but I guess that I was wrong.

Shaking that thought out of my head, I continued working.

A few more hours passed by until I heard a knock at the door.

"E-Enter?" I asked, startled by the sudden sound.

Black Hat entered, carrying a tray towards me. He smiled and placed it down on the table in font of me. On it was a singular sandwich, and I swiped it away in fear.

"What was that?" Black Hat asked, frowning at me.

"S-sorry, sir," I stuttered, shrinking under his glare. "I-it's just that sandwiches kind of frighten me. Many deaths h-hav-"

"I don't care, Flug," Black Hat interrupted me sternly. I flinched at his voice. "Just finish your invention."

He turned to leave, but stopped when my stomach grumbled again. He sighed in annoyance before turning back to me again.

"I'll lead you to the kitchen," he said, beckoning me to follow him. "You can have what you want, but make sure to bring back any future food. I'm not letting you out of the lab until you finish that invention."

I wordlessly nodded, and we soon left the lab. Walking down the corridor, I noticed many paintings, all of them portraying Black Hat as some kind of deity. I shuddered at the thought, and soon we entered the kitchen. He went over to make himself some coffee, while I scavenged for food. Thinking that I had enough, I approached Black Hat, who was drinking his coffee.

"Aren't you a demon?" I asked, my arms full of food. "Can't you live without food and drink?"

Black Hat just shrugged as he took another sip. "Ready to go back, Dr.?"

Dr.? I thought before shaking my head. I nodded, and before I knew it, I was locked back up in the lab. Sighing, I took a golden apple and cut it into small enough pieces so that what was left of my teeth could chew it. As I ate, I continued on my invention, wanting it to be perfect.

It has been six days since I was locked in here by Black Hat. I slept little. I ate even less. All of my attention was focused on this one invention. Wiping the sweat from my brow, I put the final touches on the object. Proudly, I placed the object down, leaned back in my chair, folded my arms, and smiled.

Prefect, I thought to myself.

My stomach grumbled again, and I gave into my hunger. I took what I had left of my food, and ate it all like a starving lion. Satisfied, I leaned back in my chair and fell into a deep and troubled sleep.

"FLUG!"

I awoke to Black Hat shoving me backwards, making me fall out of my chair.

"W-what time is it?" I yawned, carefully pulling up my goggles so I could rub my eyes. "I-I promised Rafiq that I would meet him after class ended."
