Another week has passed by, and here I was, sitting in my lab and creating another invention. After the events of last week, Black Hat now acts like a villain, always yelling at us and telling how much he hates us all. I know that he's just trying to show his villainous side, but sometimes I feel as if I would be better off working with my parents. Then, I remembered that they lied to me all my life, and my hatred for them only grew. As I was putting the finishing touches on the invention, Black Hat kicked open the door, and stormed in.

"S-sir!" I exclaimed, surprised that he came to check on me.

"I can't stand this!" Black Hat complained, ignoring me and sitting down in front of me. I shrugged, and continued working on the invention. "They changed the order to today! My little scientist can't keep up with these orders! HE JUST WENT THROUGH A TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE!"

"Uh...sir?" I asked, picking up the finished product.

"WHAT?!?" Black Hat yelled, turning towards me.

"Th-the i-invention i-is d-done, s-sir," I stuttered, flinching away from him.

"Brilliant!" he exclaimed, calming down and swiping the invention away from me. "They are going to love this shrinking ray! But first, we need a test subject."

He gave me a sideways glance and grinned. I stepped back in fear as Black Hat aimed and fired. Everything seemed to grow around me, and it all stopped when I was about the size of Black Hat's ankles. He peered down at me before picking me up by the collar of my lab coat.

"Well, doctor." His voice sounded like a hundred loudspeakers and I covered my ears to dampen the sound. "It seems that your invention works after all."

"Great!" I yelled at him, trying to make sure that he could hear my voice. "Can I please be restored to my normal height now?!?"

Black Hat scoffed as he placed me back on the ground, pointed the ray at me, and I grew back to my original height.

"Here," Black Hat stated simply, throwing the invention at me. "Wrap this up for our customer."

"Y-yes sir," I replied, trying to catch the invention. "A-anything else?"

"This came for you in the mail," he replied, throwing a box at me. "Don't know who it's from."

I caught the box and stared after him as he left the lab. After wrapping up the invention, I sat down at the table and opened my box. On top of some white tissue paper lay a handwritten note, and I picked it up in curiosity.

Dear Flug, I read.

I know that these past few weeks have been stressful for you.

That's an understatement, I thought as I rolled my eyes. I sighed, and continued reading.

It can't be easy to go from a hero to a villain.

But I was never a hero or a villain, I thought, annoyed.

And it was probably worse when you discovered that your parents were keeping a secret from you for the longest time.

At the mention of my parents, I grew angry, and also a little sad. A tear fell onto the paper, and I tried to swipe it away, blurring the handwriting in the process. Cursing under my breath, I tried my best to read the rest of the note.

But, I guess that you finally found your place; here. With me, a madwoman, and a giant blue bear. Weird choice for companions.

I laughed a little at this before I read on.

Anyway, we know that you always want to hide your face, and that you threw your last bag at your parents.

They didn't even deserve that, I thought, angrily wrinkling the sides of the paper. They deserved nothing from me.
