[y/n] was beyond exhausted at school. Her head was rested on the palm of her hand, slowly falling asleep in class. She quickly opened her eyes noticing that she was nearly asleep, wiping her eyes quickly.
She listened to the teacher, slowly falling asleep once again.
—
[y/n]'s eyes slowly opened, seeing Miki staring at her from in front of her desk. Miki smiled down at her. "Hey, its time for lunch," Miki whispered, resting her hand on [y/n]'s shoulder.
[y/n] wiped her eyes and got up. "How long was I asleep for?" She asked, with a loud yawn.
Miki rubbed the back of her neck. "Well you fell asleep in the beginning of class," Miki responded, trailing off.
[y/n] sighed and stood up, walking out of the classroom with Miki. Miki patted [y/n]'s shoulder. "At least you don't have detention," Miki said with a smile, trying to make [y/n] feel better.
The two walked into the cafeteria, seeing Akira sitting by himself, girls surrounding him.
Miki groaned and put her hands in her short brown hair. "Do these people know what personal space is?" She muttered, stomping over at the table.
[y/n] followed Miki and the two of the sat in their seats (after trying to get through the mob of girls).
Akira smiled at Miki and then at [y/n]. [y/n] looked down with a blush on her face, remembering their encounters yesterday. The thoughts of when he kissed her and when the two of them stared at the stars together.
Akira knew she was thinking of the moments they had, and he couldn't deny the fact that he wasn't thinking of them too.
Miki sighed and stared at the girls that swarmed their table, begging for Akira to eat their meal. "I almost wish you could return back to what you looked like," She whispered, keeping the same smile on her face.
Akira chuckled and watched as the lunch lady shooed the girls once again. Akira averted his eyes from the girls to [y/n], watching as she stared down at the floor.
"Are you okay?" Akira asked, a sympathetic smile on his face. He wondered if the girl had told Miki about what had happened, part of him hoped she didn't.
[y/n] looked up, surprised at what Akira had said. "Y-Yeah! I'm fine," She responded, realizing she didn't get any lunch.
Akira smiled at her, making [y/n]'s face heat up even more. Miki looked at the two, oblivious to what the two were going through. After all, she only focused on track and school. Romance was the least of her worries.
Miki cleared her throat, and adjusted herself to look at [y/n]. "So, what happened?"
[y/n] and Akira froze at Miki's sudden question. [y/n] gulped. "H-Huh?"
Miki laughed and smiled. "Ya know? In class?"
[y/n] gulped and laughed in nervousness. "R-Right, I-I didn't get much s-sleep last night," [y/n] responded, not technically lying.
Miki nodded in understandment, taking a sip of her drink.
Akira stared at [y/n] intensely, his heart racing just by the look of her. [y/n] turned to look at Akira, their eyes meeting. The two stared at each other, [y/n]'s heart pounding.
Maybe she was falling for this boy.
—
[y/n] stood at the entrance of Lana's school, waiting for the younger girl to walk out.
Once she did, Lana ran to her older sister, a wide smile on her face. "Did Akira come?" Lana asked, looking around.
[y/n] shook her head. "No, sorry, Lana," She apologized. Not only did she apologize for Akira, but she also meant it for leaving her last night.
Lana grabbed [y/n]'s hand and the two began walking. Lana looked up at [y/n]. "Did Daddy go to work?" She asked innocently, adjusting the straps of her bag.
[y/n] nodded and squeezed Lana's hand apologetically.
—
It was late at night and [y/n] sat on the step of the house, she had finally managed to put Lana asleep, and she needed fresh air. Fresh air that her window couldn't provide her.
She stared up at the stars. "Mom, if you're listening to me, I-I want you to know I miss you," She whispered, putting her hair behind her ears.
She sighed and wiped the small tear that fell down her face. "Why do I do this to myself?" She mumbled, her head resting on her knees.
"Because you miss her?"
[y/n] quickly looked up, seeing Akira staring at her.
Akira smiled, tears in his eyes. "Its okay to miss someone, w-we all lose someone w-we love."
He sat next to [y/n] on the step, wiping his tears. "You miss her, don't you? You're crying inside, aren't you?"
[y/n] nodded and cleared her throat. "I-I do, b-but it's been awhile. I have to learn to let go."
Akira looked over at the girl, he shook his head. "No, you don't. Y-You don't have t-to let go."
[y/n] sighed and stared at the stars. Why did Akira always appear when she had tears?
[y/n] looked back up, Akira staring at the girl as she gazed at the stars. Both of them wanted this moment to last, they wouldn't admit it though.
"[y/n], I really like you."
[y/n] froze, staring ahead of her. Her eyes nearly popping out her head, her heart nearly bursting out of her chest, her body nearly melting.
She had no words, she couldn't respond in any way, what was she supposed to say? She couldn't tell him she liked him, she only just met him. She didn't want to say something that she wasn't sure of.
Akira turned her head to face him, and he smiled at the girl. "I really do."
[y/n] pushed Akira's hand away. "D-Don't say things like that," She mumbled, scooting away from him.
Akira stared at her. "Why not?"
[y/n] shrugged. "We just met, it's impossible for you to like me. You barely know me, p-plus there's nothing to like about me!"
Akira laughed and scooted back over to her. "There's everything to like about you."
