"1,2,3. 1,2,3."
Rey Jordan felt the beat move through the studio. Rising up onto her pointe shoes, she started her routine. Her teacher, professional dancer, Kylo Ren watched and guided her through the dance. She turned and moved in time with the beat. Then the same thing that had happened all morning happened again, while spinning in a triple pirouette and she fell out of pointe.
"Urgh!!!" She yelled into nothingness. Kylo turned off the music and walked over. "Why do I keep falling? Swan Lake is in less than a month and nothing is perfect!" She plopped down on a nearby chair. She looked up to her handsome teacher.
"Rey." He bent down to her level. "You keep doubting yourself. Use the mirror. Spot. Watch me." He got up moved into position. She watched as he effortlessly spun. He landed it with a certain assurance that Rey would have killed for.
"See. I did not have any doubts and simply did." He stood over her. "Okay do you want try again?" Rey nodded.
Kylo moved to his laptop and hit the play button. The fierce music rolled into the room, in over powering waves. Rey watched as her teacher demonstrated the routine once more. He moved with a certain assurance, trusting his muscles with every step. Rey joined him and they moved together in perfect harmony.
The dance Kylo had choreographed was filled with pain, hurt, longing, and mystery. It was in a sense made for two. Two hurting lost souls. They met in the center and Kylo subconsiously gripped Rey's slender waist. He lifted her effortlessly as though she was a cloud.(picture above) When he set her down, she spun towards the left with him on her tail. To give the feel of being chased. He grabbed her hand and spun her into him. The music mixed with their heavy breathing made the room erily tense. Kylo looked deep into Rey's eyes. She looked at him shyly.
Kylo P.O.V.
Kylo marveled at her trust in him. He still did not understand what made him grasp her and lift her above his head, but all he could think of now was his beautiful pupil standing in his embrace. She looked at him from beneath her eyelashes. Kylo's mind wildly told him to stop, but his heart told him other wise. Her breath quickened as he leaned closer.
No. His brain tore him away leaving Rey standing alone.
"Nice work, Rey. We pair pretty well together." She nodded still openly staring. "Well get some rest I will see you bright and earily." He went and packed his laptop up. Just as he was about to leave he heard her sweet voice.
"Kylo?"
He turned to her. "Yes Rey?"
She looked at her pointe shoes. "I was wondering could we maybe do more Pas De Duex work tomorrow?"
Kylo felt his hands grow moist. "Sure Rey. We can do that. Do you know who is playing Sigrfied yet?" She was staring in swan lake and that would more than less likely want to practice with her other lead.
"Um... You haven't heard yet?" She looked into his eyes. "Leia said that you had been cast."
"Oh. No I did not know that. I will see you tomorrow."
He walked out the door and heard a little bit of movement from the room he just left. Now he knew it. He like his student. More than he should. Much more than he should. Now his meddlesome mother was trying to throw them together.
He stepped out of the Resistance studio, and walked to his Lamborghini. He had become a wealthy young man by investing in small companies which grew and now he Co-owned three separate businesses. He got in and sped to the First Order Ballet. He went in and immediately went to work in one of the private studios stretching and becoming limber and strong. He then moved to his own personal studio. It was dark and dim. He closed the door and hooked his laptop to the surround sound system. His playlist was dark and gloomy. He danced and worked out. Moving from weights, to the barre, to the center of the floor.
Then he heard it. The voice of the man who had found him and turned him into a success. Snoke.
"Well done my apprentice. I see that the girl is still hanging on your mind."
"No master. I have forgotten her." Kylo lied. He could never forget Rey. His Rey.
Snoke circled the broken man on his knees. Kylo heard the sound of the dreaded whip before it came whistling down on his back. He flinched and cried out.
"That is for falling for her in the first place." The whip cracked on him again. "That is for being dumb enough to think she could love you. You the estranged son of Leia Organa. You the broken man who I brought into the spot light." The older man laughed, bringing the whip down again. He then left the room leaving one final command. "Train."
Kylo slowly rose. He first tended to the wounds that he had received and then he threw himself into his routine. He made quick sure jumps and fast small leaps. He was a master at his trade. He only wished that he would not be so weak.
Later on....
Rey POV
Rey walked into her apartment. She threw her bag on her bed and changed into her sweat pants and tee shirt. She was confused by her handsome teacher. He was going to kiss her. She knew he was. Then he stopped.
"Am I that repulsive?" She asked the wall.
She sighed and walked to the kitchen. After making herself dinner she sat and watched some TV. When she was getting ready to go to bed she walked by her door. Her eye caught something stuck in the corner. She leaned down and picked it up. It was a letter addressed to her.
