POV Marceline
I was sitting bored in my math lecture until I heard the sweet sweet sounds of the twenty-year-old bell across the hallway. My algebra teacher Mrs. Thompson set down the expo marker and called out as we gathered our books, "Alright, no homework tonight! But study for the quiz on Wednesday!" but I was already out the door by the time she finished talking. I ran down the hall, trying not to trip over Carson's white Toms that had a yellow dot pattern on the top, but I ended up getting tripped by Erica's cork wedges. I caught myself with the back of my old converse, but once I looked behind me, I saw Erica and Carson giggling like the little shits they are. "Oh, nice to see you too Erica," I said as I sighed with an annoyed look. Erica laughed, "Hey Marceline! How's the weather up there?" I hate getting that question, yeah I'm tall, I'm 5'7 and one of the tallest girls in my grade, next to Chloe and Jasmine. I rolled my eyes and said, "It's better up here than down there with you. Because it's muggy and cold down where you're standing." as gave them both the finger as I trotted backwards down the hall to my locker. Once I got there, I kicked it with full force. I saw Don and Isaac walking to their lockers, which were further down the hall close to the exit, but I didn't speak to them. I grabbed my small back pack that only had my science notebook and my old pencil bag inside it, and I slammed my door shut. Once I slammed it, Carson walked by, so I opened it again and slammed it harder to annoy her. I snickered at the look on her face, then I ran outside to my bike. But Grant and Thomas were already there waiting for their parents to take them home.
"Marceline, is this your bike?" Thomas asked, examining my old beat up bike which was parked to Isaac's. I rolled my eyes and nodded with my arms crossed, "Yeah, can you not taunt how bad it looks? I already know how old it is, and it's as old as me. So please, kindly get your dumb asses away from it." Grant giggled and said, "Is it because were wealthy and we don't need our grandparents to take us home at night?" I shook my head, "No, at least I know how to cook, clean, and stay at home by myself without trashing the place. Also, aren't you a country club kid?" They both nodded as Thomas ran his hand through his bleach blond hair. "Well then, you have better things to to than pick on a kid who's on financial aid, so please, go ride your golf cart asses to your parents gold Cadillac's," I said as I untied my bike from the bike park.
As soon as they left, Isaac and Don came running up to me, asking, "What'd they want?" "To annoy the living hell out of me," I said, as I got on my old bike. Isaac shrugged, "Hey, just know they're dumber than you." "Nope, Thomas has advanced lit with me in Miss Berkshire's class," I said as I began to ride my bike onto the sidewalk, with Isaac and Don following behind. "Hey, you guys wanna play CoD at my place?" Don asked, as we stopped at a crosswalk to let cars speed by on the road. I shrugged, "Can't, gotta go to Walgreen's to get food for dinner tonight, that and we're out of napkins and paper towels." "I'll go with you, I need a few things, candy is one thing," Isaac said. I shrugged, "Alright, but I need to grab my wallet from my bedroom. Granna left some grocery money on the kitchen counter and I need to remember to get it. Don you can tag along if you want too." Don nodded as his bright red curly hair blew in his face from the wind, "Sure, I have some money left over from paying Beau for the CD he burned for me." "What CD?" I asked, as we crossed the street and continued to ride out bikes down to Walgreen's. He shrugged, "Just a Fall Out Boy CD that was way to expensive. So Beau, who is a tech genius, went on YouTube and illegally downloaded the entire soundtrack onto a disc. And now I have it in my back pack." I looked at him and asked, "Wait, Beau's a tech nerd like Isaac?" Isaac snickered as we made it to my place around three fifteen, "Yeah, he's in my coding class on B days and he's a really cool guy. He's a biracial guy, part white and part Indian, he's also from Minnesota which I've heard is colder than it is here. You'd like him, he's also playing Clopin in the Hunchback of Notre Dame production in May."
