The peculiar rumbles of sound was the next thing I woke up to. The groggy pang in my head killed me slowly as I attempted to sit up, feeling too hot. With my body not moving an inch, I gently opened one of my eyes, feeling annoyed about the disagreement between myself and my muscles. Oh, I'm already sitting up.

That was also the moment when I realised what was in front of me. It was the very road I am awfully familiar with. The sun had blessed my view as it stood high and mighty above in the bright blue sky filled with a few white clouds floating by. The identical Victorian-style houses lined up neatly on the side of the road, each having its own unique fences and gates. A small smile perked at my lips as I blinked, feeling euphoric as I took in the scene before me.

A lady with a pushchair crossed the road with her two children beside her, cautiously looking at all directions with her darting eyes. A few boys walked by with all their hands in their pockets, their hair all in the same style of a quiff. Behind them were a few girls who looked like they were in middle school, giggling with their bodies shaking multiple times. They eyed the boys in front of them and probably talked about how hot whichever one looked.

Turning to my right, my eyes followed the very rumble I heard earlier. Kian's face was turned to me as he snored slightly. His dark curly hair was much more messier than the last time I attempted to tame it. His long eyelashes were resting under his eyelids as they hid his ocean eyes. The sun highlighted his slightly high cheekbones and the bridge of his nose, leaving a sparkling tip. Drifting down to his lips, I observed how they were so deep in colour, almost red but pink at the same time, looking absolutely kissable.

At that very moment, I realised it was the third time I was checking him out. I rolled my eyes at myself and gave an exasperated sigh at my thoughts. I really needed my caffeine boost today, especially after sleeping at who-knows-what-time in the morning, and having to sleep sitting up, leaving me with sore muscles. Yup, I regret this more than getting scolded by sweet-as-fuck Reece.

My mind drifted to our encounter yesterday and I shrugged. It was his fault for being overdramatic anyway.

"Oh, hey..."

I almost gasped as goosebumps perked at every inch of my skin. That single raspy voice had me at the edge, like the Satan himself was dangerously close to me. I turned my head to Kian as he reached for one of the buttons beside the steering wheel, pressing on a blue one.

"It's damn hot." Oh baby Jesus, when did a geek sound so... delicious?

I shivered even though we were both covered in a fresh layer of sweat because of his burning heater. "H-how long have we been out?" I ask stuttering— wait, stuttering?!

He rolled down our windows then took a look at his Rolex, flinching as his eyes met the ticking arms. "Well shit, we missed registration, and already into first period by 20 minutes."

I gaped my mouth at that. What even? Struggling to move with my sore back and legs, I stepped out the car, turning to my left to see my house. It looked the very same as it did before I left for the party yesterday evening. I have no way in, broke as heck, and probably stink like a sewage rat. Just great.

"Hey, can you go inside now?" The boy from behind asked as he stepped out, stretching his arms over his head, making his shirt slide up to reveal the v above his Klein boxers.

I have got to stop looking at him, or I might as well break loose like a wild lion.

I shook my head at his words, feeling annoyed that there was no shit I could do to make anything better, because it was clear that I was homeless until my parents arrived a few weeks later.
