"Everyone has to blame something for the way the world is"
~Veronica Roth
I hate this I thought as I gazed at the sold sign on my home and then at the swollen belly of my mother. I know it seems selfish, but I didn't want to move. So what if there wasn't enough room in the house for the stupid baby, my step dads, two boys, my sister and me.
I wanted to move out anyway. But no I had to move all the way across the country with them to upstate New York, where all the rich snobs lived with t hair privet beaches and conceded children.
"Come on" my mom called out to Buddy and Bobby my step dad Franks kids "if we hurry we might be able to stop for ice cream"
The boys looked at each other and grinned before scrambling to their feet and into the back of my moms minivan, they were young 8 and 10.
"Are you coming, Adventures?" my mother asked sarcastically. I looked over at her and narrowed my eyes, but held up my keys as I made my way to my blue soft top jeep wrangler were my white husky Azul was sitting expectedly in the passenger seat.
My mom scrunched up her notes at the dog "do you really have to bring that thing?" she all but snarled
I rolled my eyes before spitting back "Yes. Seeing as it is the only thing left of my father he will be coming"
But she had already turned her back and gotten into the passenger seat of the van before it sped off, leaving me with nothing but an address on a napkin, a dog, and a plain ticket to get from ABQ New Mexico to New York Airport

"I hate plains" I mumbled to Azul as I grabbed my backpack and hobbled to the area where my jeep was being unloaded from a cargo plane. When it was fully unloaded I grabbed the keys from the grumpy man at the desk and hastily got in trying to avoid any trouble.
I typed the address from the napkin into my iPhone, which easily gave me instructions to my new house and with that I was on my way.
Two hours. It took two hours to get from the airport to Palms New York. The place I will be living now. The first thing I thought when I entered the small city was snobs. I could already tell from the large mansions and beach front property that the people that live here are snobs.
I didn't like snobs, people that pretend like they are better than others, that pretend like they live in a fairy tail and when life finally hits them, they act like its everyone elses fault that their life when to shit. The types of people that expect you to give them respect when they treat you like shit, the ones that take life for granted and are never geatfull, the ones that will never work a day in their life for anything.
Those types of people are the ones I absolutely loathe. So it's an understatement when I say I don't like snobs.
As I drove down the road the green lawn and suburban houses lined either side. The 'houses' had began to get larger as I continued down the road and closer to the ones with beachfront property.
"Oh god no" I gasped, looking at the huge mansion that was the place I would now be living.
I looked at the napkin the phone and then back at the house, not quite believing this is where I would stay fore the next two years.
I looked a little to the right and spotted Bobby and buddy running along the private beach that acted as the back yard.
I pulled up to the house and stared at it for so long I didn't notice Azul jump out of the jeep until it was too late and he was already half way across the neighbor's yard headed towards what seemed like a boy sitting on the sand in front of the calm waves on his side of the beach.
Shit "Azul" I called even though I knew he wouldn't listen.
I jumped out of the jeep and quickly sprinted to catch up with him before he could reach the boy.
"Azul you little shit" I scream at him just as he tackles the unsuspecting boy.
Even from far away, I can see the boy's eyes widen in surprise at the unwelcome visitor to his personal space.
"Ahhh" the boy crys before a throaty laugh escapes his mouth.
"God, I'm so sorry, " I stammer out reaching for Azuls collar to prevent him from continuing his sexule assault on the boy.
"It's ok" he says, looking up at me from his position on the ground.
I gasp slightly at the color of his eyes. They are a beautiful deep forest green. Ive never seen eyes like that before.
He smiles and begins to stand, brushing sand off his hands before offering one to me in greeting.
"Hello, I'm Olivander Reedz" he says, smiling kindly while shaking my hand. "You must be our new neighbor"
I nod, looking him up and down. He looks about my age sixteen or seventeen, He has large eyes slightly hidden by messy black hair, with a small nose and strong jaw.
He's wearing something I wouldn't expect, a baggy gray hoodie with a pair of jeans. Most guys ive seen so far are either shirtless with shorts or are sporting swim trunks and a tank top.
"Hum," I reply "What a fascinating name"
He nods, raising his eyebrows. There's something about his eyes, they hold something unbelievably intelligent, like they contain all the knowledge in the world and will share it with you if only you are to ask.
"Are you going to tell me your name?" he asks "or shall I just stand here awkwardly as you check me out?"
I snort "Its Adventures, Adventures Await"
I wait for him to start to make fun of me, but he doesn't he just smiles and says
"What a fascinating name"
