Chapter 1 Silence

A/N: So the first chapter eh?
Before reading, please keep in mind that this is my first time writing a fanfic so it may or may not be perfect - I also wrote this back when I was 13

Mikey Pov

White noise filled the lair.
The only sounds to be heard was light finger taps on Donnie's homemade laptop, Leo's silly cartoon characters spaucing another dramatic quote and the occasional sound of Raph flipping his comic book page.

It was almost time for patrol and all four of us were just laying around, waiting for Leo to give his orders - or whenever his episode of space hero's finished.

Slowly swaying on the tire swing, I glanced down at all three of my brothers, observing what they were each doing.

Leo was about an inch away from the TV screen, eyes wide as he watches space heroes. He may have an addiction to that show but at the end of the day it didn't bother me - he always seemed so calm and knew exactly what to do to lead this team, even in the worst case scenarios he would fight to the very end to protect us.

Looking over to Raph, he seemed sucked into his comic with that grumpy look he always seems to have on his face. Sure he was a hothead but deep down he was a real softy, everybody knew that, since we were little Raph and me were really close, I would always get him to chase after me when he was angry at something. It was my way of getting him to cool down. Sometimes it would leave me with a broken finger or a sore arm - nothing too serious, but Donnie would always rush in and fix it, I looked up to Raph for his strength, he was really strong, he could take down hundreds of foot bots without breaking a sweat, someday I hope I could be as strong as him.

Then there was Donnie, tapping away on the keys, god knows what he's doing on there. Where do I even start, he's the smartest dude I know, he built a truck out of nothing! All I did was name it.

We would always joke about Donnie having an scientist mind stuck in a teenagers body - being how smart he was. I loved watching Donnie work even though a barely understood anything he said or what he was doing. I was still fascinated by everything he would do in his lab, I would ask so many questions that they would come out annoying to him.

I looked up to all three of my brothers, to me they were perfect, everything I could ask for.

"Why do you keep staring at us, Mikey!?"

I was caught off guard as a annoyed voice yelled breaking the silence that seemed to go on forever.

I blinked rapidly in confusion with the sound of my name being said by my hothead brother Raph.

This made Donnie look up from his laptop but Leo kept his eyes on the TV, I could tell he was listening in, by the way, his eyes lightly flinched.

"Earth to Mikey, I asked you a question" Raph said irritated.

"I..Uh was ...just thinking" I replied still unsure of what just happened.

"That's a first."

" Raph " Leo grunted back, but he still didn't take his eyes off the TV.

Donnie just sat there watching from afar...

"Whatever, Mikey stop staring it's weird! "

I just laid there swinging on my tire swing as the silence crept back into the lair, I new Raph was a hothead and most times I would just brush stuff like this of but...this time it felt different.

Before I could continue my thoughts Raph made a come back that felt like it stabbed right through me.

"Honestly Mikey, if you ever went blind, you won't catch me crying."

What?

I felt myself trying to hold back tears as the threatened to fall.

I always thought to see the good in everything was a gift...something to separate me from my brothers, but I didn't know that it came off annoying.

"Raph, Splinter always said never say something you don't really mean it." Leo said in his leader like voice trying to come off aggressive.

"Guys, I'm really not in the mood for this can we just go?" Donnie finally said, already exhausted.

"Fine" Raph said slamming his comic to the side "only because I don't want to be stared at by baby blue over here." walking to the exit

All four of us walk out the exit but as I was walking Donnie gave me a little playful shove on the side of my shoulder.

"Don't worry about Raph, Mikey, he's just being Raph."

I already knew this so I just gave a light smile as Donnie walked ahead of me returning the smile

We were almost to the surface but not before I looked back to where we just came from.

'It's going to be a long night'

I thought to myself before closing the manhole cover.

Wow hey, guys lookie what we have here!?
The first chapter of this weird story :D
Anyways so I hope you guys liked it also sorry that it took a while to upload I went to sleep after saving the draft almost finished but when I woke up it hadn't saved and I had to write the whole thing again. So I'm a little dead inside but anyways
Also just pointing out not everything will be in Mikey Pov it was just something I tried out for this chapter different POV will be throughout this story! Xx
