I know this has been a while since you put this in one of your book things, but I have a confession/problem I could use some advice on. When I was little I always looked up to the older girls. They were so amazing and I always wanted to be like them. Now I am in some of their classes and that has changed. They were being really mean to one of my closest dancer friends and I don't know what to do. They didn't even acknowledge that they were being mean or rude. It's not like they didn't know what they were doing they just said those things and didn't apologize or anything. I don't want to be like them now. I don't know who to look up to though. They have been my role models for forever and now I don't know what to do. Who should I look up to and aspire to now? If you have any advice I would definitely be open to it, but if you don't that's okay.

First off I would like to apologize for taking so long to answer you, and I hope you've figured out your situation by now, but just in case you haven't, I'm going to respond anyways.

The transition between being a "younger girl" and becoming an "older one" is hard. Let's face it, teenage girls can be really mean, and it's very disappointing to find out they weren't what you were expecting. But the fact that you've been able to recognize that they aren't good role models is a plus for you. Some girls would continue to look up to them, no matter how they treated other people.

However, there's plenty of people in the world who you can choose to be your role models, and they don't necessarily have to be the older girls. You could choose someone your own age who you admire, a teacher who's always helped you when you needed it, or a professional who hasn't given up on their dream. But whoever you decide it should be, make sure they are worthy, and make sure you stay yourself in the process.

Also remember you're becoming a role model for the younger girls. They're going to begin to look up to you and want to be like you.
So make sure when they get to the place you are now, you are a worthy role model who will encourage them to treat people kindly and to never treat someone badly just because you can.

I hope this helped and I am so so sorry for the long wait
