Our eyes do not lie
But
We see what we want to see
What she saw was beauty in me
I don't know how or why
Maybe because I let her see my naked soul
I had let my guard down for her to realize who she really wanted
Despite a bitter and cold heart
She settled for a storm because she believed my perfect imperfections were everything she had been looking for
She was willing to drown in the storm
She left everything she was for me
I promised myself I would never let anyone in
But God,
She was someone I could not deny
She was the one I wanted to fix me
The one to cure my aching heart
I never craved to have anyone's attention more than hers
I craved her in every way possible
That's when I knew
She was the one.
I knew we could be put through a thousand different situations and we would still find our way back to each other.
