(Kevin's P.O.V)
"What do you mean you like him!" James yelled.
"Calm the hell down, I seen the googly eyes you give Seamus. Why is it so different if it's me?" I asked James and sat on his bed.
"Because your the fucking leader! The leader of the players and the leader of the nerds can't fall in love. It's just not right" he said and paced the room.
"If you guys don't except it then I'll leave" I said sternly. James looked at me wide eyed and sat next to me.
"We would never kick you out for liking someone" he looked me in the eyes and I could tell he was telling the truth.
"What about chilled. He's the only one that I'm not sure if he likes his partner. I know you do, stop hiding it. Eddie and Aleks are dating. So what about Anthony?" I asked.
"Oh...I don't know" James lied.
"God damn. Everyone needs to work on there lying skills" I said and glared at him.
"They have been dating for about a month now. Before the prank but I didn't tell you this, right?!" he confessed. I nodded and I felt my phone buzz. It was from my mom and it said 'Stevens very sick. Come home'.
"I got to go. Get Seamus's number and hook up already but he's stubborn so good luck" I said and ran out the door.
"Bye Kevin" James mom waved to me as I left. I waved back and hurriedly got in my car. I speeded home, surprised I didn't get a ticket. I ran into the house and went to my room. I walked in and my mom was sitting on the side of the bed while she held a washcloth to his forehead.
"He broke out in a fever. He's coughing bad" she said and left the room to get medicine.
"My poor Stevie. Does it hurt?" I asked and rubbed his cheek. He nodded slightly and started coughing. It got so bad that he started coughing blood.
"Mom, we need to take him to the hospital" I said, freaking out. She nodded and motioned me to follow her to the car. I picked Steven up bridal style and set him on my lap in the car. My mother rushed to the hospital and we went in.
"I'll get him checked in. They won't take this as an emergency" she said and I sat in the empty waiting room. I could hear my mom faintly talking through the wall.
"Steven, are you anorexic. Please don't lie to me" I pleaded. Tears swelled up in his eyes and he nodded. My god. I went to go lift up his shirt and he hit my hand.
"Please don't, it's ugly" he said.
"Your not ugly, everyone's beautiful in there own way Steven. I have to see" I said. I went to lift his shirt up again and he let me but he closed his eyes tightly. I held my hand over my mouth at what I saw. You could count his ribs and his body had shades of black, blue, purple, and yellow on it. Bruises over bruises and on his lower stomach were cuts. They looked to be done by hand too.
"Why?" was the only thing I said.
"My dad abused me. He made me feel like shit, calling me worthless and fat. For some reason I felt like I deserved the stomach pains and cuts. Cutting was also a relief, I liked watching my blood run down my skin. I let out my emotions like that" he said, staring at the ceiling like in a trance as I traced them.
"Steven please stop. Your handsome, funny and smart. Your dad is wrong, you are skinny enough and I hate to tell you but this is gonna kill you. I-I" I stopped and took a deep breath "I think I love you and I don't want to be in love with someone that's dead cause I couldn't help them". Steven froze and my heart stopped.
"I don't want to say I love you cause there's no point if it doesn't mean anything but I feel something for you. I can't say I regret what I did to myself but I will try to stop" he lifted up his sleeve to show me a long vertical cut with stitches. "I was so close to leaving. I'm surprised the school didn't find out and rumors didn't go everywhere". I rolled up both his sleeves and starting kissing each scar. Every single one and when I got to his stomach he started giggling.
"That tickles" he giggled
"That was adorable, now let me finish" I smiled and kissed the rest. I rolled his sleeves down and his shirt just in time.
"Steven please" the nurse called. Oh god, let's hope it's not serious....
