4- Cali

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

After school, I met up with Audrey to go on our bus. I know it's crazy but basically all day I was thinking about the Dolan twins. At lunch I was trying not to think about it and not bring it up at Audrey's table. I was starting to become friends with some of Audrey's friends. Two of them are named Arwen and Harper. They both seem really nice and cool. I feel like Audrey bothers them.

As Audrey and I walked onto the bus, Ethan and Grayson were sitting next to each other on the bus. They were talking and Grayson seemed upset.

"Hey Cali!" Ethan said and waved to me.

I smiled at him and waved back and I sat down next to Audrey.

Audrey made a face at me. It looked like she was mad but I ignored it acting like I didn't notice.

I got a text from my phone and I looked down.

The text said, "Hey Cali, it's Arwen! Do you want to hangout with Harper and I today?"

Audrey was being nosy looking at my phone.

"It's okay Cali. Go hang with them! Logan and I are hanging out today anyways." Audrey said and smiled.

Logan is Audrey's guy friend by the way.

I smiled at her and said thanks. Wow that was actually nice of her!

Ethan and Grayson were about to get off their stop. I wanted to say something to Grayson, "Grayson, I will see you tomorrow!" I said with a smile on my face. Grayson looked at me and gave me a little smile and sort of got off of the bus quickly.

I laughed and then Audrey looked at me.

"Cali, please don't talk to them. It isn't worth it." Audrey said.

"Why not?" I said looking at her.

"They bullied me and my friends." Audrey said.

I just stayed quiet after that. Did they really do that? They seem so nice.

I got off the bus and waved bye to Audrey.

Arwen and I were texting back and forth and I told them they can come to my house. They said they will come in 15 minutes. I am honestly excited. I might even ask them about Ethan and Grayson because I'm curious.

15 MIN LATER...
Arwen and Harper texted me they were here. I opened my door and waved at them. They ran over to me and hugged me. I laughed and let them come inside. We went up into my room and sat on my bed. I was wondering where my mom was and I decided to text her.

"Hey Mum, where are you?" I texted her.

"Oh hi honey! I am with any new friend Lisa!" My mum texted me.

Oh that's nice! She is making friends around here!

"That's good. I'm happy for you!" I texted her and then I shut my phone off.

Nicole and Harper were talking as I was turning off my phone.

"Guys I'm so happy I am already making friends around here!" I said thinking to myself how lucky I was.

"We love you Cali!" Harper said.

"I think we should tell her." Arwen said as Harper agreed with her.

"Tell me what?" I was wondering.

"Do you promise not to ignore Audrey after this?" Harper said nervously.

"Yes." I said nervous to hear what they had to say.

"Okay so, Audrey is probably the meanest girl in this school." Arwen said.

"You aren't gonna believe what she did to us. She turned us into different people. She had no friends at first because she always got in trouble. Then she pretended to be so nice to us and then now she treats us like shit." Harper said.

"So why are you guys friends with her?" I said crossing my arms. I was so angry at Audrey.

"She made us become friends with her. She said if we ignore her she will bother us and make our senior year the worst." Arwen said.

I definitely believed them. These are my new best friends right here. I can see it.

"Are you serious?" I said angry.

"Yes. We are. I know we only met today but we see good in you. We trust you Cal." Arwen said as Harper nodded.

I guess Cal was my new nickname.

I hugged them and I was telling them how sorry I was. Audrey is doing that to me too. She is starting to treat me like shit. I see it.

"I hate Audrey so much. That is why she was talking shit about Ethan and Grayson." I said to them. I didn't tell them about what happened so they are probably so curious right now.

"Wait the Dolan twins? I love them!" Harper said as Arwen smiled.

"Okay yeah so what happened..." I told them the story.

"Oh my god Grayson is amazing for you! Audrey said that we can't talk to them but you don't know how much we want to be friends with them." Arwen said.

I just had to ask them this question, "Is it true that they bullied Audrey?"

"No, that isn't true. It's a pretty long story. Audrey's parents hate the Dolan family. The parents got in a huge fight because Ethan and Grayson's sister Cameron was best friends with Audrey's sister Naomi and Naomi was pressuring Cam to ditch school with her. Cam didn't want to but Naomi made her then they got in huge trouble and Naomi blamed it all on Cam. So now the families hate each other and Audrey bothers the twins all the time for something they weren't involved in which was so dumb." Harper said.

My eyes widened. What is this?

"I wanna punch Audrey in the face." I really did because I hate her so much.

"I don't want to be friends with this idiot." I said.

"Well you are gonna have to Cal. Audrey can't know we told you. It is going to cause all of us trouble." Arwen said.

"You know what? Lets be friends with them. Why can't we?" I said as I stood up from my bed.

"Just because of something that happened between the parents doesn't mean we should avoid Ethan and Grayson." I continued saying which I thought was true.

The girls nodded in agreement. We honestly didn't care anymore what Audrey thought about it. If she wants to remain friends with us? Fine but she can't be the person that stops us from being friends with someone that she only dislikes.

"Rumor has it that Grayson is doing that fundraiser where you pay money to go on a date with him this Friday!" Arwen said as she got so excited.

"Go to it Cal! Win Grayson's heart." Harper said.

"I am going." I said.
