This is getting seriously out of control!!! I never meant to two-time Mason. I mean, it was a complete accident! I don't really know whether I plunged into Troy's arms or whether he pulled me in, but I never meant to.
At lunch, I was back to sitting with Mason and Troy kept giving me these looks that said "I remember what happened last night". Mason noticed and kept glaring at him. I hope he doesn't find out about the whole kissing thing last night...
Trying to keep a low profile, i decided to stare at my plate and poke at the food.
"Shanna, why does that guy keep staring at you? It's creeping me out," Mason seethed in anger. Caution! Danger! Flashed in my head. I just shrugged. Then, Troy winked and that set Mason off. NOT GOOD.
---
"Hey idiot. Stop messing with MY girlfriend, or you'll be sorry." Mason sneered.
"I'm NOT messing with her, I'm serious. And no, i don't think I'll be sorry." Troy smirked, walked over to me and pressed his lips against mine. I pulled away, mouth agape, totally surprised. Maybe shocked would be a better word. I thought, There he goes!
Mason's fist swung across Troy's face and Troy recoiled in horror. Troy glared at him and clenched his fists, his veins showing. The blood was draining from my head. Nonono. BAM! Troy punched Mason in the face and kicked him behind the knee causing Mason to fall to the ground in pain. Troy was getting ready to dislocate his arm when I shouted, "No!" Troy turned around to look at me.
I stood in front of Mason and firmly pushed Troy away. "No. More." I stared at him intensely. I attempted to glare at him but it came out more as a pleading gaze instead. Troy looked at me and tilted his head slightly, as if trying to see why I would defend Mason. 'Because', I wanted to tell him, 'I don't want anyone to get hurt over me.' I didn't need to say that. Troy shrugged, a little frown on his face, and walked off coolly.
"Mason? Are you ok?" I kneeled down and shook Mason gently. He was unconscious. Boy, Troy sure pulled no punches. Some of the jocks came over and carried him to nurse's office while I trudged worriedly behind. He was bruised on chest and cheek. I looked away to stop tears from brimming my eyes. What on earth was happening?
After the nurse dressed Mason's wounds, he woke up. The nurse motioned for me to enter the room and I did. I immediately ran over to Mason's side, stroking his injured and slightly swollen cheek.
"What happened? Why is he bruised?" The nurse, Helen, asked concernedly.I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out.
"It was nothing much. Just a little brawl cos some guy was messing with my girlfriend here. Don't worry about it. I'm fine," He told Helen, brushing the fight away like it was no big deal.
Helen frowned at looked at me. Mouthed, "be careful next time" and let me help Mason out. Once outside, he started to look around with narrowed eyes, probably for Troy. After all, he did make a fool out of Mason in the cafeteria just now. Mason was all out for revenge. I turned Mason to look at me and smiled at him. When, he saw me, his eyes immediately softened and pulled me in for a hug. I didn't hesitate.
"Shan, you're not leaving me for that guy are you? The violent one?" I laughed softly at the fact that Mason called Troy "violent" since he wasn't so gentle himself, but I shook my head against his chest.
"Of course not," I mumbled.
"Great," Mason pulled away, smiled, and then kissed me gently on the lips. Before putting his arm around me and walking to class.

On Saturday, I was in my room clad in a tank top and mini-shorts. Homework, to state the obvious. The doorbell sounded, but it didn't disturb me. Then, someone knocked on my door. I groaned softly and dragged my feet over. I opened it, saw Troy, and immediately slammed the door close again. WHAT is he doing here?! I screamed in my head.
I straightened out my hair... and my face, smoothed out my clothes and then opened the door again. "Yes?" I cocked my head slightly.
"Hey, Shanna. I, I just wanted to come and apologize.. but... can I just come in first?" He said softly at first, then blurted out. I rolled my eyes and turned back around to my oak study table.
"Shanna! You do know that I like you right? And, that night, you just looked like you... liked me back... So.." He trailed off.
"Well, I DO have a boyfriend you know..." I sighed.
When I turned around to face Mason, he cupped my face with his hands and captured my lips with his.
"Do you feel the same way when you kiss Mason?" he pulled away and asked me. I hesitated. I don't know. Did I? What was I supposed to feel?
"Tell me if you feel the sparks, cos I do." Troy smiled. He wrapped his arms around my waist and my hands instinctively went to his chest. This time, he kissed me long and slow. My hands went from his chest to around his neck to pull him closer to me. When his tongue slipped into my mouth my knees buckled. And I. Felt the sparks. My heart beat faster and my mind was blowing up. His hands left a tingling sensation on me everywhere they went.
When we pulled away, I nodded, "I feel the sparks." He grinned at me and I smiled back.
"But you have to keep this a secret kay? at least for the time-being. Until I sort things out with Mason," I put a finger to his lips. He chuckled and nodded. He gave me a soft goodbye kiss before leaving.
Well, well, well.
Shanna White, what on earth have you gotten yourself into?
