Hi! I'm Seán William McLoughlin, your average dork really. Always laughing and eating ramen with a knife it seems. I'm a senior in high school and life's pretty great. I know, weird right? Most kids in high school feel like their lives are the worst.
This morning I was abruptly woken up by my service dog, Trico. If you get that Last Guardian reference you're cool in my book.
He was licking my face and bounding on my bed as if it was a trampoline. Of course this was nothing unusual or out of the ordinary seeing how he did this every single morning.
I yelped out a loud yell as Trico happened to leap right into my baby maker.
"FOOKIN'!"
I screamed out in a pitch that I didn't even think could be heard by dogs, it was so high pitched. I whimpered as I held and cupped my crotch, rocking back and forth.
Sooner or later I huffed out a sigh, the pain finally subsiding. I reached and felt around my bedside table for my glasses, upon finding them them came the part of trying to put them onto my face correctly. Trying to get them to fit right in my face was difficult. Upon feeling them secure and on correctly on my face I smiled. I know, I know... I don't need glasses seeing as I'm fully blind but they looked good on me and it often would distract people from the cloudy whiteness of my eyes.
Once done with that I got up and began to get dressed, I always hated this part. So much. I could never see the color or style of clothing that I was putting on... Sometimes I'd end up putting my legs through the sleeve holes of my shirts. I had my mom arrange pairs of clothes that looked well together. Specifically setting the clothing in order. I felt my way to the clothing pile she'd set up. It always went Shirts, boxers, pants, socks, then shoes were by the door.
Once I was finally dressed and ready to go I put Trico's service dog vest onto him and happily clipped the leash on him.
I'd often eat breakfast at the school, I had too, I'd end up probably in the emergency room if I tried to cook and my mom went to work early. And before you ask, yes, it's only my mom and I in the house.
By this time Trico and I were walking to school after I put my jacket and beanie on. Letting my best friend and companion guide me to school and out of the street.
-Time Skip-
Trico and I had arrived at the school, we were walking past the field that was by the high school. My sharp hearing could make out voices and cheering. Probably an early morning football game. I sighed, wanting Starbucks. Coffee was my everything.
I suddenly heard a voice yell
"WATCH OUT!"
Which of course made me jump, what was I watching out for?! A stampeding elephant? Slenderman? A car?
I heard a thump and felt very dizzy, I couldn't think straight. I heard Trico whimper and it felt as if the world was spinning around. Ow. I was lying on the concrete of the sidewalk as I felt someone grab my shoulder, even though I couldn't say a word.
"Oh god... he's bleeding.."
