Jacks POV
I sighed, it had been awhile since I had returned from the hospital. My head hurts like hell still. I heard a knock at the door, who could that be? It's six o'clock, my mom's out grocery shopping. It might be my girlfriend... well... ex girlfriend. I got up with a sigh, feeling my way down the hall. Trico guiding me along. I got to the door and opened it.
"Hello.?"
I asked, into a nothingness. Answering the door was always very nerve racking, I never knew what it opened to. Possibly a murderer, I never knew. When I was a kid, I was bullied pretty bad. The bullies would knock on my door, I would answer and they'd throw rocks and tease me. Doorbell ditch mostly. Making me look like a complete and utter idiot.
"Hi, Seán. I'm Mark, the team captain of the schools football team. I'm here to apologize about how my teammates acted and the I'm truly sorry about the incident. You look like you're doing better though. Say, as an apology, would you like to go to Starbucks?"
I heard a deep, smooth, buttery like voice ask me. Mark Fischbach was at my door? The team quarterback? This was awkward... I'm in my Spider-Man pajamas. How did he know my coffee obsession? Well a coffee did sound amazing at the moment.
"Mark? Oh, no need to apologize. It was all an accident. And that sounds great. I'll be right out, unless you'd like me to go in a Spider-Man onesie that is."
I joked, earning a laugh out of him.
"I don't know there, Peter Parker. You might get us a discount. An awesome discount."
Wow, this guy gets me! I thought at this point he'd be chest bumping me, or saying 'bro' sixty times by now. Mark was actually pretty cool. I laughed, rolling my eyes playfully. Inviting him in and shutting the door. Guiding my way up to my room. Deciding on wearing some jeans, a hoodie, and a beanie. I went back to Mark.
"Let's go get those dirty beans!"
I said with a chuckle, getting Trico's leash when I felt a soft hand on mine.
"Nonsense, I'll guide you"
"Into a pole?"
"I was thinking a burning ditch, either one's fine."
We both laughed, I nodded and put the leash away. Blushing as he took my hand and began leading me out of the door. He'd tell me if there was even a crack in the sidewalk, or the occasional spotting of someone from our school, Trico couldn't tell me when there was a bump or crack. Which I truly didn't care about the school peers, but they probably thought this was insane. A geek from school, holding hands and going on practically a date with the football quarterback.
Upon arriving to the heaven smelling place, he opened the door for me as I thanked him. Walking me in...
long story short we got along really well. He's hilarious, and very charming. He gave me his number and I knew... from then on we'd be friends. Good friends. Which I really needed at the moment, I needed the both of us spitting out coffee and laughing so hard we had to cover each others mouths to breathe. It seemed as if time slowed, it was just Mark Fischbach and I... in a coffee shop.Once he had walked me home and he was dropping me off, I was smiling and blushing like a lovestruck idiot. I was falling, fast and on my face for Mark. Feeling like that football from earlier, accept to the heart. I turned to him and he turned to me.
"Thanks for letting me borrow your glasses for the date."
"Since when?! You slimy sausage!"
"You look better with them off Jack, I can see your eyes more. They're gorgeous."
I blushed heavily, I could tell my face must've looked like a tomato. I felt my glasses being put back on my face gently. I felt strong arms around my waist, I felt safe and warm. I'd never felt that... with being blind I never felt safe. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his shoulders. We hugged for what seemed like hours. Just Mark and I at my doorstep hugging it out. I'd never thought this would ever happen.
"Text me, okay? We need to hang out again. You're fantastic."
"Will do, goodnight Markimoo."
"Goodnight, Jackabutt."
We parted the hug, the love was so strong in the air. I could almost see it, and I had no eyes. He cupped my cheek and his hand slowly grazed it. Once his soft hand left, I heard footsteps walking off. I smiled, walking into my house. Once I got in I squeaked like some teenage, twilight obsessed fangirl.
