~time skip to lunch~
When it was time to eat, me and Ivy walked to the cafeteria together. I tried looking for Ruby and Nixie but couldn't find them anywhere. And then Ivy noticed me looking around.
"Looking for your sisters?" I nodded while still looking. I started to get worried. "They probably got lost but I'm sure someone will lead them here." I looked at Ivy with confusion.
"If we don't find them after lunch we can go to the office and have someone look for them alright?" I nodded my head. "Now let's go get food. I'm hungry." Ivy grabbed my hand and pulled me with her to a long line of people waiting to get food.
Once we got to the front, I looked at the food choices. Everything looked so delicious. Despite the fact that I've never eaten any of these foods before. A lady from behind the counter took me out of some trance since I was looking at the food a little too long.
"What are you gonna get?" She asked. "O-oh um, this please." I pointed to a sandwich that had meat and cheese in between it. "The cheeseburger?" She asked me. I nodded. She gave me the plate with the cheeseburger on it and fries. I only know those from pictures I've seen.
I thanked the lady and followed Ivy to a table. There were other people sitting at the table too. They all looked at Ivy and smiled. But when they looked at me, all the smiles faded away. "Who's she?" One girl asked.
"This is my new friend Echo. You guys better be nice to her." Ivy said wrapping her arm around my waist. I blushed slightly but didn't say anything. "Why is your hair white?" A boy asked. I was too scared to answer. Everyone seemed so rude.
"She was born with this hair color. Don't judge her." Ivy said defensively. "Wait Echo??" I heard a boy say. I looked to see who it was. "O-oh. Hi Lucas. I didn't know you go here." I smiled a little. "I didn't know you go here too." He laughed which caused me to laugh a little.
"Where are your other friends?" I asked tilting my head a little. "They got lunch detention for throwing paper at this one boy." "Oh." Was all I could say. "Your friends are bullies Lucas." Ivy said looking at him. But he just rolled his eyes.
"No they aren't. That kid has been bothering them for months now. Don't go near him if you ever see him." Lucas looked at me when he said that. Even though I don't know who he's talking about, I nodded my head.
"Okay well anyways, where's Violet?" Ivy looked around for who im guessing is Violet. "She texted me yesterday saying she has a really bad headache." Lucas said looking at his phone.
"Oh okay. She hasn't talked to me since yesterday so I was getting worried." Ivy looked at Lucas. "Who's Violet?" I asked confused. "Oh she's my best friend. You have to meet her. Hopefully she'll be here tomorrow." I nodded.
Just a few seconds later I hear a familiar voice shout my name. I turned around and saw Ruby and Nixie sitting at a table with their food. I turned back to the people I was with.
"I'm gonna go sit with my sisters. I'll talk to you all later." I started walking to Ruby and Nixie until Ivy hooked her arm with mine. "I'll sit with you guys." I looked at her and she was already looking at me smiling. I smiled back and nodded.
When we sat down, Ivy blurted out a random question. "Where are you guys from? If you don't mind me asking of course." Me, Ruby, and Nixie all looked at each other. We didn't know what to say. "Really far away. Not lying." Ruby answered. I sighed in relief.
"Okay. I won't ask anymore questions about that. What school did you guys come from?" I was able to answer this one. "We were homeschooled." "Oooooh okay. That's pretty cool." Ivy sounded interested. "Trust me, no it isnt." Ruby said as she ate some of her food.
"Oh. I'm sorry. The thought of being homeschooled always seemed interesting to me." Ivy said smiling. "Oh well this one," Ruby started while pointing at me, "was always interested in going to an actual school." I blushed from embarrassment.
"Oh my gosh really??" Ivy asked looking at me excitedly. I nodded. "So do like your parents teach you guys or do they hire someone?" Ivy asked looking at me. I didn't know what to say.
"Our father teaches us." Nixie said looking at Ivy. Ruby and I looked at her with confusion in our eyes. The king isn't our father so I'm not sure why she said that. But Ruby and I decided to keep quiet.
"What does your mom do?" Ivy asked looking a little concerned. "Never met her." Ruby said taking a sip of her drink. "Oh. well I'm sure you have. You guys must've been babies at the time." Ivy looked at me sadly when she said that. "That makes sense." I said looking at my food.
I noticed I haven't taken a bite out of it. I lost my appetite. "Is everything alright Echo?" I heard a male voice say from behind me. I jumped a little and turned around. It was Lucas. He sat next to me.
"I'm fine thank you." I smiled a little. "Tell me what's wrong?" Lucas said turning his whole body to face me. I looked at him confused. I then heard Ivy laugh and Lucas and I looked at her.
"What's so funny?" Lucas said angrily. But also in a playful way. "Ivy looked at me and placed her hand on my shoulder. "He believes about when a girl says 'she's fine' that's she really not. Which is sort of true but not with all girls."
I nodded my head and smiled a little. The bell rang and Lucas and Ivy stood up. I did as well. "Oh Echo your sisters are gone." Ivy said pointing to where Ruby and Nixie were sitting. And she was right. I started looking around for them but couldn't find them anywhere.
"Its okay Echo. We'll find them in class. So we better go or we'll be late." Ivy said as she held my hand and pulled me with her to our next class.
