~Time skip to after school~
Once school was over, I saw Ruby and Nixie sitting on a bench outside. I quickly ran over to them and I'm guessing they noticed me because they both looked towards me.
"Oh Echo. You finally noticed us." Ruby said rolling her eyes and looking away. "What are you talking about. You guys didn't want to talk to me during class. Why is that?" I asked concerned.
"It seemed to us you were perfectly fine with Ivy. So we left you guys alone." Nixie said looking down towards a book she had in her lap. I sighed.
"I'm really sorry. But you saw how she pulled me with her everywhere. I'm just happy to have a friend outside of the castle. Please do not be mad at me." Ruby and Nixie stood up while looking at me.
"Alright fine. We forgive you. But try not to spend all your time with her." Ruby said crossing her arms. I smiled and hugged her tightly. "You don't need to hug me. Get off." I let go of her.
"I'm sorry. Well, where's the King?" I asked looking behind her and Nixie. "We aren't sure. He said he'll pick us up after we get out but no ones here to get us." Nixie said as she turned around. So did Ruby.
Just then, I heard two male voices from behind me. Ruby, Nixie, and I all turned around and saw three boys. I knew who they were though. "Oh hi, boys." I smiled. I felt Ruby nudge my hard so I looked at her.
"Who are they?" Ruby whispered to me. "They're my friends." I smiled and looked towards the boys again. Ruby didn't say anything after that.
"What are you doing?" Lucas asked while he put his hands in his jacket pockets. "Just waiting for..." I froze. I didn't know what to call the King. He's not my father, but Ruby and Nixie don't know that the boys know we're princesses.
"For what?" Angel asked looking confused. "Oh right sorry. I'm waiting for my f-father." "Ooh okay. Well, we're gonna head home. Do you mind if we give you our phone numbers?"
"She doesn't have a phone," Ruby said sounding a bit annoyed. "Aww man. Well, we'll see you tomorrow then. Bye Echo." Lucas said before the three of them walked away.
I looked back towards Ruby and Nixie. "Do you think the King will give us a phone?" I asked. "Probably not. And why did you call him our father?" Ruby asked while her arms are crossed. "Th-they don't know where we came from." I lied. I regret it so much but they cant know.
After about 15 minutes, a car pulled up and the King came out signaling for the three of us to get in the car. After we got in, the King drove away from the school quickly. "How was school girls? Was everything going well?" Ruby stayed silent and looked out the window.
"I made some new friends," I said looking at the king from the back seat. "Oh already? Well that's good. What about you girl?" He asked Ruby and Nixie. "We didn't make any," Nixie said while looking at her book. "Oh. I'm sorry to hear that girls. Well, I'm sorry for picking you girls up late. Someone came by to the castle to say hi." Ruby, Nixie, and I all looked at each in confusion then we looked at the King.
"Who?" Ruby and Nixie asked at the same time. "She's a friend of mine. I hope you like her." The King responded. I looked at him through the rearview mirror and saw that he was smiling.
When we got to the castle, there was a lady standing outside in front of the garden talking to a few guards. We all got out of the car and followed the king who went up to the lady. She had long, straight black hair and oval like classes. She also had dark eyes. She was very beautiful. I started to get the feeling that the king really likes the lady. He grabbed her hand and kissed it gently.
"Welcome, Edith. It's lovely to have you here. I would like for you to meet the girls." The lady, whose name is Edith didn't say anything. The king made us stand in a line from shortest to tallest. Nixie, Ruby, then me. The lady looked at Nixie first. "What is your name?" Edith asked. Nixie looked at her with a soft smile. "Nixie. It's a pleasure to meet you." Nixie was always so polite to many people that she met. Ruby... Not so much.
When Edith looked at Ruby, Ruby didn't smile. "What is yours?" Ruby was silent for a few seconds but finally said her name. "Ruby." She didn't say anything else. The way Edith looked at Ruby made it seem like she was examining her. Very carefully at that. And then, it came to me. "What about yours?" My heart started racing and I panicked a little. But I was able to speak. "My name is Echo. It's very nice to meet you." I gave her a warm smile. Edith grabbed the king by the wrist and walked a few feet away from us. Unfortunately, we weren't able to hear what she told him.
They came back over to us and the king looked somewhat nervous. "O-okay girls well, go inside and do whatever it is you need to do for school. Dinner will be ready shortly." Me, Ruby, and Nixie and went into the castle and straight into our rooms. When I went into mine, I saw Agnes making my bed. "Agnes, what are you doing?" She jumped a little before turning around and looking at me. "The king had me clean your, Nixie's and Ruby's room before he left to pick you up from school. I'm just about finished so I'll be on my way in a few." "Oh, alright then." I walked over to my window and sat down looking outside. A few minutes later passed and Agnes was about to leave my room.
"Agnes before you leave, by any chance can you ask the king if me and the other girls can have phones? Just don't tell him I told you to ask." Agnes started to look worried by my request. "I don't think he'll be okay with that." "He has to be. He's letting us go to school after all, and what if something bad happened to us? There wouldn't be a way to contact him." Agnes looked down at the ground then back at me. "Y-you're right. I'll go ask him right away." I smiled and thanked her before she left my room closing my door.
