2. Keeping Them Safe

It is time for Caroline Forbes. This could be little hard. Why? Because she was also his future Sister-in-law. That was if Stefan is with her. She was amazing at what she do. This supernatural drama was only holding her back. That would be unfair to the kid.

He should start. Today was the night of comet and Elena was going to come. Elena. His Elena who was dreaming of getting into Stefan right now. Shit! Jealousy is a bad thing.

Caroline would be in school right now. He can compel her to leave tonight. Awesome idea. He was amazing. Arrogance isn't a bad thing, is it? Not for Damon Salvatore. He smirked to himself. May be he should deal with Zach till that.

He had been planning on compelling him away since he arrived in this time. He saw Zach writing something.
Damon- Zach.
Zach- Damon.
Damon- (compelling) go away from Mystic falls and never come back again, no matter what. Stay safe and never contact anyone from Mystic Falls, ever. Leave within an hour. I will text you the address and that will be your place from now own.
Zach nodded and left.

Damon heard the knock and decided he shouldn't be creepy. He opened it nicely.
Elena- Stefan lives here?
Damon- yup.
Elena- I'm his friend. Elena Gilbert.
Damon- Damon Salvatore, amazing big brother.

Elena- what?
Damon- come on in.
Elena- Stefan never told me he had a brother.
Damon- Stefan is crazy.
Elena- he's quiet.
Damon- that's all an act. He will be coming home. Sit. Can I get you anything?

Elena- your house is cool and giant.
Damon- it's old.
Elena- yeah but... Nice.
Damon- thanks. Coffee? I'm sure you will love it.
Elena- umm... Sure.

Damon lead her to kitchen.
Damon- please, take a seat.
Elena settled on counter.
Elena- so... You work?
Damon- yup.
Elena- so you do a job?
Damon- no. Ever heard of- Raven?
Elena- yeah, the magazine?
Damon- yeah. It's mine. Salvatores owns a chain of industries.

Elena- so, you're the CEO or something?
Damon- exactly. But there are hundreds of people working. No need to worry.
He turned to brew the hot coffee.
Elena- you're loaded.
Damon- kind of. Hello Stefan.

Elena turned and saw Stefan standing at the kitchen entrance.
Stefan- Elena, didn't know you were coming.
Elena- I'm sorry, I should have called.
Damon- no, you can come over whenever you want. Right Stef? Get in. Have coffee.

Stefan- I'm fine.
Damon- you need it. Don't be so annoying. Have some.
Stefan settled next to Elena. Damon placed two large cup of coffee in front of it. Should Stefan drink from it? What if there is vervain in it?

Stefan pretended to drink.
Stefan- it's bad.
Damon rolled his eyes. His brother was a real smartass. He takes a giant sip from his cup and then handed it to Stefan. Stefan's so paranoid.
Damon- it's fine. Finish it. Not everyday you will get to drink coffee from me.

Stefan- oh yeah, thanks. I'm flattered.
Damon- you should be.
Stefan finished it as fast as he could.
Stefan- Elena, let's go.
Elena- let me finish it.
Stefan- then finish it fast.

Damon realized that he was making Stefan edgy.
Damon- relax. You two kids, have fun here. Keep the door open, no funny business. I will be home late.
He left.

He saw Caroline standing near the tables with the arrangements for the comet night.
Damon- hey.
Caroline smiled. He mentally face palmed. She will try to throw herself at him.
Damon- (compelling) you're going to leave this town tomorrow morning and never come have here ever. If you want to visit your mom, call her to visit you. Stay away from creepy things and supernatural.
Caroline nodded.
Damon- forget you saw me here and remember what I said. Achieve whatever you want in your life Caroline.
He placed a small, tender kiss to her forehead and disappeared before she opens her eyes.

He was damn fast. Tonight was comet. So, he need to make a mental list and do everything he can to save all this people he lost. This over thinking was annoying him.

He headed to Bennett residence. He knocked the door. Bonnie opened it.
Bonnie- yes?
Damon couldn't help but smile. He wasn't the same Damon Salvatore he was when he came to this town.
Damon- can I talk to Sheila?

Bonnie- grams? Uh... Sure. Wait.
She closed the door and walked in. He was hearing everything.
Bonnie- grams, a hot guy is asking fo you. He's hot, like you know? Hot hot.
Sheila- yes baby. I will see him. Calm down.
He smirked.

Sheila opened the door.
Damon- Sheila.
Sheila- what do you want? Haven't you done enough with this town?
Damon extended his hand.
Damon- it's good to see you again Bennett.
Sheila frowned and shakes his hand.

Sheila- what do you want?
Damon- leave this town with Bonnie.
Sheila- what?
Damon- I pledged to protect Bennett bloodline and that is what I'm doing. You trust me. Leave as soon as possible, which is within two days. We don't have time.

Sheila- is there a problem?
Damon- yes. You're a Bennett and originals might come. We don't want you or Bonnie in trouble. Get the hell out of here.
Sheila- fine. Thank you.
Damon- here is my number.
He gave a piece of paper to her.
Damon- any problem, call me.
Sheila- I will start packing.
Damon- thanks. Take Bonnie with you. Don't let her stay here.
Sheila- I won't.
Damon gives a nod and left.

He drove to town square and saw Tyler, Caroline, Elena, Stefan with candles. He settled down on turn bench. He compelled three people away today. What happened after comet? He was thinking when Elena walked up to him.

Elena- hey.
Damon- hey.
Elena- don't you want a candle?
Damon- it's a childish thing to do.
Elena- Stefan doesn't think so.
Damon- Stefan's an idiot. He don't think at all. See you later sweetheart.
He gets up and left.

Stefan walked inside Damon's room and pinned him to wall.
Stefan- stay away from Elena.
Damon removed his hand easily.
Damon- and I told you to behave.
Stefan- don't you ever go....
Damon- listen here kid, I make the rules here and you are going to do as I say. Stay away from Elena or else I will make sure you regret going against me. Now if you will leave my room, I have a shower to take.
Stefan didn't moved.
Damon- now.

Hot water was very relaxing. Stefan is anything but stubborn. He himself can't stay away from Elena. Right at this moment, it felt bad and guilt was eating him. It will be bad about thinking of Elena when he know his brother gladly died on his wedding night so that he can have a life with his girlfriend.

To keep Stefan away from Elena, he will have to do something. Before that, he will have to do something about Tyler. Yup! He killed him without any remorse.
So, he will have to play it smoothly. He just realized something. He can play smooth and he can play rough at the same time.

He walked to sheriff Forbes office. He knocked and entered in with a box after a small come in. He saw Liz behind the desk. He missed her. She was a mom or a friend to him.
Liz- how can I help you young man?

Damon- umm... My uncle Zach told me before leaving that I should give you this to you.
He handed box to Liz. She looked back up at him.
Liz- vervain?
Damon- don't you need it?
Liz- we do. Thank you Mr. Salvatore.
Damon- keep it to Damon.
Liz- okay, Damon. Thank you very much about this.
Damon- don't mind. But you know about this?

Damon- I'm a Salvatore. Of course I know. I know everything.
Liz handed him a paper and a pen.
Liz- write your number. I will inform you about the next meeting.
Damon- sure, of course.

Liz- any family member?
Damon- yeah... My little brother. He's a junior at high school.
Liz- it would be difficult for you.

Liz- take care of him. He night creatures are dangerous.
Damon- of course.

He left. That was awesome being so formal and serious. Ha! He can do it too. Soon the party will be there and he might do something about Tyler.
