I called Tyler into my room.

"What do you want?" he said with annoyance in his voice.

"I need you to cover for me while I go on a date," I said with a pleading smile.

"What's in it for me?" He said a little more interested.

"I'll take you to the beach so you don't have to stay with mom," I offered.

"Deal," he said immediately.

I smiled, told him what he needed to do, and then started getting ready. I went into my bathroom and started curling my hair. The finished product was perfect beach waves. Then I put on a little bit of mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss. After my makeup was perfect I went to look for the perfect outfit. I found a black dress that fit my body perfectly, and then put on my gold locket and my black sleek 5" heels. I looked at myself in the mirror and decided I was ready. I looked at my phone and it was already 8:25. I walked to Tyler's room and told him that I needed him to distract mom while I snuck out.

"I've got a plan," he said with a laugh.

With that he grabbed a big book he found somewhere around the beach house and threw it off the top bunk.

"Mom! I think I broke my leg," he yelled.

Troye sat on the bottom bunk and laughed at Tyler's "acting" while my mom walked upstairs obviously drunk. I ran to my room when she was almost there and waited for her to go to in Tyler's room. When she was standing in his room I walked past.

"What the fuck you want you little brat?" She yelled with a beer in one hand a cigarette in the other.

As I walked past I saw Tyler looking at me with hurt eyes. 'Im sorry, thanks though' I mouthed to him. I quietly moved down the stairs while I heard Tyler explain to my mom what "happened" to him. I got to the front door and was about to open it when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Where are you going Sage?" I heard my dad ask from behind me.

"To get some air," I lied "mom is smoking again and it smells awful."

"Be back by midnight" my dad replied seeing right through my lie.

I smiled and gave him a hug them left shutting the door as quietly as I could. It was perfect timing. Cameron pulled up right when I walked out. I walked to his car and hopped in the passenger seat.

"You should've let me open your door," Cameron said a little disappointed.

"Its fine," I smiled.

"Well you look beautiful," he said handing me a white rose.

"Aw, that's so sweet you didn't have to do that," I said.

"Yes I did," he said smiling at me.

"So what are we going to do?" I asked.

"It's a surprise," he said with an excited look on his face.

He handed me a black bandana and told me to put it on.

"Really?" I asked laughing.

"Yes," he said while he helped me put it on.
