"Why? The bite of a—" Juliet choked. "—pureblood is—" she coughed. "Irredeemable."He savored the taste of her blood like this was his last meal, ignoring her nails digging into his skin. It was as if he was releasing everything he has been holding back all these years. Raven felt herself rise towards the surface and flicker back down the more he drank from her system. He let go of the tight grip on both sides of her arms and licked his lips in satisfaction.
"I kept you in there for too long, Raven. I'm sorry but this was the only way. . ." he gritted his teeth. "I tried finding other ways to bring you back, I really did."
"My King, when did you find out—"
"I owe you an apology, Juliet. Father was right. I guess this is the end of our tragedy."
"Raven, he's putting you in the same situation as I was in. He's gonna find someone else—" she wheezed. "Then abandon you like this. Don't end up like me!"
It was either from blood loss or exhaustion that everything turned black for her once more.
"She won't."
