Bobby stared at the mirror in morbid curiosity, trembling fingers touching his canines that protruded from his teeth, eyes a simmering golden colour.
"It's amazing, isn't it?" Brad placed a hand over his, pulling it away slowly as he rested his chin on the sixteen year olds shoulder. "Now we can be more than friends. We can be pack, Bobby."
"This isn't what I wanted when I said I wished we were brothers, Greenburg." He spat, but the effect was diminished by his shock.
"Oh, don't use my last name, Finstock. We're family now, we can't call each other by our last names like when we first met." Brad hummed, hand squeezing Bobby's as if he was reassuring them. "You don't even have to go back home if you really don't want to..."
Brad had always been a bit of a creep in Bobby's eyes, even if they were best friends. He was Brad's only friend, actually. He didn't think befriending the weirdly affectionate and obsessive kid in middle school would lead to this.
His hands were shaking with shock and fear one moment, before it changed to rage. The pure unadulterated anger and frustration of having his will taken from him, something he always despited, by his best friend.
He didn't realise he'd mauled him until he was human again, staring at his bloody hands. He could feel the new found power coursing through his veins. The flicker of red eyes in the mirror showed him he had taken something from Brad.
That night, Bobby left Ohio and Brad's body behind to run. He found people along the way of his journey, or to be technical, he found other werewolves who help him figure out what he was. The pack was kind and friendly, offering their home and knowledge of what he'd live the rest of his life as.
A lone Alpha. A leader without a pack.
It didn't help that Brad's voice still lingered in his mind, speaking and screaming and insulting his every decision. Soon though, Brads voice became a picture of him, sixteen and alive, yet constantly following only him. He remembered waking in cold sweats for months after seeing him the first time.
At the end of his journey of two years, Brad Greenburg still appearing and disappearing from his vision, he headed to a secluded little town in California to hide away from the past.
Beacon Hills.
