"Greenburg, get off the field!" Bobby snapped at Brad, who was grinning as he danced around on the field in the lacrosse gear. He whacked his stick at fourteen year old Scott McCall, who fell down, rubbing his head. Bobby glared at the sixteen year old, not noticing the ball that had actually hit McCall.

Some of players looked at him as if he was crazy, looking around for a Greenburg. Bobby often forgot that other people couldn't see Brad. When no one found a Greenburg, they continued to play.

After a while, the team got used to his coaches random yelling or comments directed at Greenburg. Stiles did theorise he escaped a mental hospital a few years back, but that disappeared into the rumour mill after only two weeks.

Stiles just couldn't let go of who Greenburg was. He had always been a naturally curious kid, the one obsessed with digging up sandpits to find fossils, - or dead rats, give or take a good day - the one who watched Cold Cases curled up in his mother's lap, his sneaky fingers rummaging through his father's work files when he got bored and researching bizarre things for hours on end just because the thought popped into his head.

Stiles couldn't just have a mystery laid out right in front of him and not solve it. If he could figure out that Susan's from third grades doll had been trashed by her parents and then go dumpster diving just to get it back for her, he could solve anything!

So when Coach kept yelling at an imaginary person by the name of Greenburg, and he couldn't find any past records of him in any mental institutions in California, he dug deeper. He stole his teachers personal records from the station, made digital copies of his birth certificate online, dug through databases for old schools all along America until he found a Bobby Finstock in Ohio Senior Prep High School.

He was insatiable for the knowledge of who his teacher was, and more specifically, how he was attached to Brad Greenburg.

It didn't take long to find out who Brad Greenburg was. They made an article on his death in the Ohio Newspaper. Mauled by a wolf in his own room. Yikes. No one seemed surprised though, since he lived right besides a forest. Not a pleasant Snow White forest though with singing dwarfs and chipping birds. More like an apparently cursed woods that was said to reek of fear and echo screams every full moon. Werewolf Woods, it was appropriately named by the towns folk.

Stiles had to wonder if it was actually wolves though. When he pulled up the body picture, it was obvious it had been mauled, but the bruise of the boys shoulder look too much like a human hand. Werewolf woods indeed.

It was easy enough to link Bobby and Brad, their school records showing they were in most classes together during their school time, both excelling at Physical Education and Economics, though Brad was better at both. Brad was definitely one of those guys who could have taken multiple different career paths with his grades.

He got the yearbook up on his screen, flicking through slowly to find that the two had also been friends. A photo of young Bobby - something he had never fathomed to be decent looking - and Brad with their arms over each others shoulders and football raised high above Brad's head with his eyes squeezed shut and a laugh. Underneath it wrote Bobby Finstock and Brad Greenburg, touch down at the championship.

The two also had a photo together in their eleventh year with the words 'Most Likely to Get Arrested Together' underneath it with Brad showing off a large top hat that obviously wasn't his since it half engulfed his face, and Bobby with a bandana around his head. Crazy Hippies.

So, friends. Undeniable. Brad didn't seem to have any other friends though as he flicked through the yearbook, even Bobby have a few other buddies he had photos with.
