She's too innocent.
She's too sweet.
Her smile will bring tears to your eyes.
The others are phonies, and they just tell lies. She's full of beauty and delight.
I love her so.
At least she never changes like people, or how the wind blowsPhonies, phonies everywhere you see.
Oh, sweet girl I wish it was just you and me.
The buildings stay the same. The ducks come and go.
I'll run away, far away, someplace where the Earth seems to know. All the mistakes chasing after me.
All the phonies clapping for the wrong things.
Just trying to find a place; a safe place where goodness brings.Love made me rage.
It showed me my mistakes.
It took a big hit on me, like an earthquake.
In the dark hours, I felt alone,
I had no where to go.
I was lost, I was gone. Who was I?
I don't know!I now see you. Your smile, your sweet hair. Your beautiful soul.
Without you, I'm half of a whole.
You kill all those phonies with that smile.
Too bad you'll be this little only for a while.Tears roll down my eyes as I have to say goodbye.
I want to catch her before she falls.
All it took was one big crawl, and now she is ruling them all.
Even if she falls, even if she cries.
I'm always here for her, as the catcher in the rye.
