These are some projects that I'm proud of from various books. So far, I have Peeta's POV from a part of The Hunger Games, an AU of To Kill A Mockingbird, and an epilogue from Holden from The Catcher in the Rye. This is a poem I written based off of my favorite book of all time! This is Holden Caulfield feeling terrible for his little sister, Pheobe, because of how innocent she is compared to the "phonies" he has met throughout his life. I used a carousel for the cover because at the end, Pheobe rides the carousel; Holden thinks about how she is growing up soon. The title is called Catcher in the Rye because Holden wants to catch little children off the cliff. It's a motif in the book meaning that he is keeping them from growing up and changing. This book has changed my life. It has really shaped me into a better person. It has also inspired me to read more and to become an English teacher. You should definitely read it. Yes, this book has a lot of profanity and drug use, but it is worth reading.The writing and message is just so beautiful. I cried at the end of the book. It's just so amazing!!!!

For my English project, I have to write poetry representing Holden Caulfield from The Catcher In The Rye. So here we go!

This is a paper I wrote for my honors English class. Our theme is loss of innocence and experience, which is reflected in the books chosen for reading, one of which is J.D. Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye". I personally enjoyed the book, but I also find Holden really annoying. This paper explores Holden's conflicting desires to grow up and become an adult and to stay innocent and remain a child.

Just something inspired by/in the voice of Holden Caulfield, emissary of teen angst and profundity extraordinaire.
