I tried.
I tried so hard.
But I'm glad I didn't.
Although I wanted to go, I never wanted to leave. I just wanted one thing.
To hold onto him.
To have one fleeting moment even if it meant seeing those eyes stare into mine one last time looking for an answer or running my fingertips along the edges of his body memorising all the ways. Before they disappeared forever. Before he was lost forever.
Lingered on his arms for just another second. Before he drove away into the night like we were nothing but tiny specks lost in reverie.Maybe I should have held on.
But then again, maybe I shouldn't.
