Bad Morning

Kaara Lovero woke up with the suns rays shining through her black curtains and straight into her face.

"Kaara hurry up and come downstairs before breakfast gets cold." Her mother yelled.

So Kaara quickly got dressed and ready for school. At least tomorrow would be Friday, she told herself. One more month and school would be out for summer.

On her way downstairs Kaara bumped into her older brother, Zachariah, and ended up stumbling down the last few steps. Said action caused her dark, purplish hair to scatter all around her face.

"Sorry Kaara. I didn't see you there." Zachariah said as he helped her up.

"No worries Zach. I shouldn't have gone down the stairs that fast. You know how mom gets whenever I don't follow her precious schedule." Kaara responded sarcastically.

"Yeah I know." Zach laughed. "Hey by the way,  Leroi and I are going to meet everyone here to go to a concert. You wanna come. We never get to hang out with you."

Leroi was Zach's twin. They acted exactly like each other and were as close as two brothers could be.

They however looked nothing alike. Zach had blonde hair, blue eyes, and flawlessly tan skin, while Leroi had red hair, hazel eyes, and freckles. Their only similarity was there size and athletic build. They were both good looking though, just like the rest of Kaara's siblings. That's who Zach was talking about when he said everyone.

"I wish I could but I'm not sure." Kaara replied with head down.

"Why not?"

"Mom and dad."

Zach just rolled his eyes and grabbed Kaara's wrist as he lead her to the kitchen where their parents were.

"Hey mom?" He asked.

"Yes sweetheart." Mrs. Lovero said as she washed the dishes.

"We were just wondering if Kaara could come with Leroi and I tonight."

"Absolutely not." Their father cut in.

"Why? It's not like she's a three year old." Zach said annoyed.

"She has many things to do around the house and even then she has not earned such an opportunity." Mr. Lovero replies as he glared at his youngest child.

"Forget it Zach. They won't change their minds. I'm just a shameful mistake to them." Kaara whispered that last part as she grabbed her backpack and walked out.

Zach wanted to object but nobody but Kaara had ever dared to stand up to them. So he just watched as she walked out the door and off to school hoping everyone would at least get a chance to see her before the concert tonight. Their other siblings hadn't seen her in 4 years.
