Losing The Way

As Kaara flew over the ocean she observed the dolphins that jumped out of the water, and the boats that rode across the waves, looking for fish.

She noticed that it was sunset and she should probably be heading home, but her eye caught something in the distance that she couldn't resist.

A beautiful island that looked like something out of a tv show was standing right before her. So she flew down and decided to explore a bit before making her way back.

She retracted her wings and walked deep into the vegetation. Kaara showed wonder as she walked past small rivers, ponds, and such.

Walking across a waterfall she decided that it was time to go home. However the release of her wings caused her feet to slip on the wet surface of the rocks, resulting in her falling into a hole beside the waterfall.

The hole wasn't visible at all. She could see out of it but there would be no possible way of noticing it from the outside unless you knew where it was.

Kaara turned her head to look deeper into the tunnel, only to release that it reflected a deep blue light.

Crawling towards it she fell a little at the small roots leading from the one foot high hole of the other side of the tunnel to the ground.

Standing up and dusting herself off she looked around, and her eyes went wide as they fell upon the most beautiful place she had ever seen.

There was just about no visible sky. It was almost as if she were standing in a dome of some sort, but fortunately that didn't effect the beauty in any way.

Kaara had seen pictures but rainforests, even without sky's, were definitely more jaw dropping in person.

The same color of blue light from the tunnel illuminated the scene. The trees were a dark green, that merged in contrast with the light, and the flowers popped with the colors of precious gems.

She couldn't keep herself from walking deeper into the forest. Her pale hands stroked the rough tree bark as she walked by, as well as the soft petals of the flowing blossoms.

A small glow caught the corner of her eye as she looked to where her finger swayed against the bright bloom.

Placing her fingers upon the petal again she watched as sparkling, neon light showed as a response to her light touch. Pressing down a little longer she saw the light spread to the whole flower and retreat back to the middle as she removed her hand.

Looking up from her amazement for a second, Kaara realized that she brought herself deeper into the forest than she had meant to. The beginning of the trees was no longer visible, and she had no idea which way back the tunnel was.

She spread her Crimson Rosella wings quickly and flew to the top of the trees to find her way back but all she could see was endless forest. She flew left and right but couldn't find a way out. There was no denying that she was lost.
