"Something is troubling you." Riley says; "What is it?"
"My husband-" (y/n) begins not noticing the way Riley jaw clenched up at the word 'husband', "He was to marry another." (Y/n) says.
"Was it arranged?" Riley questions head tilted towards the side at her words.
"No, he had proposed, but she had rejected him." (Y/n) begins to explain the story to Riley, Riley listened to every detail,
he took in her pained look as she talked about it. It hurt her to say it out loud, but it was the only way she would be able to get it off her chest.
"You feel like second best." Riley says once she was done, "He was suppose to get married to another which did not go as planned so you feel as if he chose you for seconds." Riley says.
"I do Riley, I truly do. I've never felt this way before, but it hurts knowing that he wanted to be with someone else." (Y/n) whispers out.
Riley gives her a frown and wraps his arms around her shoulder, he pulls her body closer towards his own and she rests her head against his shoulder blade and chest,
"Thank you Riley."
Riley felt the need to kiss her but he wouldn't, Riley respected her and cared for her.
After the betrayal of Victoria who was just using him to get to the Cullen's and Bella, Riley felt the need to belong. And (y/n) made him feel like he belonged,
Riley wanted to leave the UnderWorld to be with her, but he wasn't going to use her like that. She was his bloodsinger and like Edward he felt the need to protect his bloodsinger,
"You should be heading back now, don't want you staying here to long kiddo." Riley says with a smile helping her up, he knew Victoria was watching from afar,
he could feel her praying eyes. He wouldn't allow her to hurt his blood singer, not now not ever.
