Outside was all dead, I didn't see one thing of life except for the small dots of the Older Ones and Nathan.

Taking a couple steps forward I could feel the warm dirt shift between my toes. It was nice and so warm. I couldn't see at first but after a minute or so everything cleared up.

Making my way towards the dot I notice there are no houses in site. What if the comet destroyed everything, and there is no food left? how will we survive?

~*~*

I've been following them for the last hour until try finally stopped for a break.

I was so tired, being in the tunnels doesn't give you much exercise.

Nathan's POV

I never realized just how few houses there are in this town until now. We haven't passed a single one, maybe the tunnels are farther out of town then I thought.

"We should start heading out soon, hopefully we can find some shelter before it gets to dark. We don't want The Crazies finding us." Joe had a point, The Crazies have no filter they would go after us in a heart beat. They are kind of like zombies I guess, expect they run as fast as and human and they aren't undead.

"You are right, but I think I see something on the horizon, maybe those are house?" Nalla is never the one to give up hope.

We started walking some more. The longer we have been out heard the more I have an itching feeling something is following us. I keep looking over my shoulder just in time to ketch a shadow ducking behind a rock or dead tree.

Turning to Nalla I ask "Do you feel like something is following use?"

"No, why did you see something?"

"Nah it's probably just my nerves" I laugh uneasily and turn to face Joe striding ahead of us.

A few moments later joe start ushering us forward, "Look I see a house! Just in time to the sun is going down."

We all start rushing forwards the bag I am carrying starts the feel heaver on my shoulders. The ground is uneven under foot.

Once we reach the front door of the house I almost burst in when Joe grabs the collet of my shirt, yanking me back.

"Ow what is that for!?"

"You idiot, what if there is a Crazy inside! you could get killed, and I'm sure Sarah would not be to happy about that when I get back."

Sarah, I almost completely for got about her! I even forgot to say good bye. I hope she won't be to mad. Maybe she will realize that I'm here to look for our parents she won't be so mad.

Snapping me out of my thoughts Nalla instructs "I'll go in first, Joe you should come in last. No offence Nathan but I don't want you guarding the house." A smile playing on herlips.

"Well that was not insulting at all" I joke

Nalla sighs and shakes her head "You know I'm right"

"Well now that, that is settled Nalla you shoulder head in" Joe has a ghost of a smile on his face.

Nalla slowly creeks open the door. It was pitch black inside from what I can tell, and it probably doesn't help that the sun has almost completely set.

I start to feel a little off edge. What if there is a Crazy in there? All Nalla has to protect herself with is a branch and a flash light.

"Joe I think I should head in now,"

"No, you have to wait till Nalla gives the all clear," Huffing out a annoyed breath, I go and sit by the door.

I've been sitting there for a while, and she has not says I one or shown her face. standing up I turn to the door and open it.

" I'm going in, we have been waiting to long," I walk I in slowly " Nalla are you okay?! You still in here!"

She doesn't answer so I start going from room to room. Every room in the lower level of the house is empty.

Heading up stair I can just make out I whimper of some one crying. Rushing towards the noise, I try not to trip on anything in the dark.

"Nalla?" I spoke softly "Is that you?"

Opening the ajar door I find Nalla sitting on the floor. she is holding a picture in her hands, with her head down. I take a couple steps towards her and she raises her head.

There are streak running down her face. "Nalla, oh my god! What's wrong?" She shakes her head and says nothing. walking over I slowly lower myself beside her "Hey" I lift her chin to face me "What's wrong, maybe I could help,"

"I don't think I will ever see them again" she squeaks. I frown; why would she think that, there's no proof showing her family is dead. I inch closer and rap a arm over her shoulder.

"It's going to be okay Nalla, it's going to be okay" she rests her head on my shoulder and continues to sob.

We sit like this for a while before I remember something "Damn it, he's going to kill us"

Nalla looks at me with confusion written all over her face "Who's going to kill us?"

"Joe, we left him outside, he probably thinks we are dead"

Nalla starts giggling and stands up "What, what's so funny?"

"Ah Nathan you just had to rude a good moment with Joe" she starts walking out the door, grinning I follow.

Sarah's POV

I've followed them all the way to this house. It was a nice house except for the ugly green walls.

Now where will I stay? It is pitch black out side and its giving me the creeps. I can't go inside because them they will spot me for sure, I've already had enough close encounters.

Maybe there is a garage or something. I circle around the house to the front. All the way I have this tickling feeling on me back, like someone's watching me. I shiver and try to open the door.

It moves a little bit, but the noise is pretty loud. So that makes the garage a no. Scratching my head I look around and see this huge tree. Maybe I could sleep up there.

Speed walking over I start climbing the tree. The first couple time I tried I ended up on my butt. When I was finally making my way up something grabbed my foot

Letting out a scream I start kicking the hand away with my other foot. It's grip gets tighter and it's starting to hurt.

"Let go of me!!" tears are welling up in my eyes "HELP! Someone help!" I'm able to get a hold on a branch a little higher up. With all my strength I try to hall myself up. Still kicking I finally get the hand off.

Frantically I rush up the tree and get as high as I can. looking down I can't see anything, it's to dark.

"Hey who's up there?" Hearing their voice I get a little lower to see their face.

The person looking up is someone I have never seen before. He wore clothes that looked a little to big on him. His hair was covering his left eye, and from we're I sat he look fairly tall.

"It's Sarah, my names Sarah"

"Matt"
