There I was, in my 2nd period reading class, staring at the clock, as the teacher runs his mouth on and on about god knows what. I didn't really care, I just wanted to leave.
"So class, what does it mean to comprehend something?" My teacher had said. Three quarters of the class raised their hands. "Hmm, let's see. How about...Hayden!"
I clearly wasn't paying attention until a dark figure stood before me, tapping me on the shoulder. "Hayden Kaplan, are you paying attention in my class?"
"Huh?" I said in a confused tone. I turned around and almost fell out of my seat. "What's the answer to my question, Hayden?"
"What question?" The class snickered. "Can you, uh, repeat it please, uh, sir?" I heard the class laughing again.
"If I must. What does it mean to comprehend something? For example, can you comprehend why you need to pay attention in my class? Maybe so you don't fail."
"Uh, it means to, understand what something means, like what it's about."
"Very good. What can you comprehend?"
"A story, article, ideas..."
-bell rings-
"Aw, I guess class is over. Your homework is to read over the story we've been reading in class. There's a test next class. Now pack up, and once your done, you can go."I hurriedly threw my stuff in my backpack, and attempted to run out the door, when my name was called.
"Hayden, may I see you please?"
"Uh, sure, I guess."
I walked over to his desk, where he was sitting on a comfy looking chair. "What's up?"
"Is there something distracting you that you think is more important than my class? If so, you can get moved."
"No, I'm fine."
"Are you sure? To you, that clock looks pretty interesting, huh? Are you waiting to see someone next class?"
''I'm good, really."
"Okay. You may go, but pay your full attention next class."
"Okay." I ran out the door, as I notice the halls were mostly empty.
I run to my next class P.E.
I catch the locker room door, just as it's about to close.
"Nice catch!" Said the coach. "Good thing to have you on the football team, catching everything that comes your direction." The coach smiled.
"Thanks, coach!" I went into the locker room.
[10 minutes later]
The boys ran out of the locker room, very noisily, to notice once again, that the girls beat us, they were faster. Again.
We waited for the coach to come out of his room so we could go into the gym. I was talking to my friends while I was waiting.
Once the coach finally came out, he opened the door. We all ran in and got in our spots. As the coaches on both sides of the gym took attendance, I waited for my name to be called.
"Hayden?" The coach called out. "Here!"
About 5 minutes later, the coaches were done and it was ready to go out to the track.
"Okay, lets go."
We all walked over to the door that led us outside. As it was opened by the coach, we all filed out and walked towards the track.
That is usually how it goes, but in the following chapters, the story will probably be changed into things just from my wild imagination. Hope y'all enjoyed and please vote and comment! ❤️
