I feel what I feel

I'm in love with you

My heart

I don't want it back

it's yours.

WIlde

WILDE! Nicholas Wilde!

I snapped out of my faze and turned my head, coming face to face with ol' chief buffalo breath. "Chief."

He kneeled down beside my tired form. "They tell me you've been standing here quite awhile. Trust me, we will find the culprits who did this."

I shook my head and looked away. "Foxes. They were foxes." I murmured distantly. I wished I was alone and with company at the same time. Moreso, I wished Judy wasn't in a hospital bed.

"Snap out of it Wilde! You know as well as me that Hopps is a trooper!" He punched my shoulder lightly. I stayed stock still. "Standing here staring a hole in the wall won't help anything. Besides, you should go do something, maybe take a shower. I am sure Hopps would appreciate some hygiene, aaaaand, well, you're kindofa mess." He stood up and pushed me in some random direction. "Go find Clawhauser, he brought ya some clean clothes. And don't worry about Hopps. She'll be fine."

I walked in the pushed direction without any general idea of where I was even going. Without Judy, I was just another spineless, slippery, sly fox. Not the brave or loyal one she thought I was. Without Judy, I had nothing. Without Judy, I was nothing. And based on the recent events, I probably meant nothing to her too. I just hoped she was going to be okay.

I received my new clothes from Clawhauser with minimal disturbances and went to the bathroom. Huge chairs next to a huge faucet next to a huge mirror. I felt small in this huge world. I took the black shirt and capris I had gotten and set them near me on the chair. Then I slowly wrapped my dirty clothes into a ball. Mechanically, I took off my shirt and turned to see myself in the mirror. Blood... judys ...blood stained my fur. I lost it.

Tears in my eyes, I reached over and sprayed myself with the huge faucet, grabbing my dirty shirt from the ball and using it to try and scrub every last trace of Judy's attackers and my powerlessness and...and...her blood off my fur. When I was sure all of her blood had been ferociously scrubbed off I threw the shirt as far away as I could and hunched over the sink.

deep breaths.

Judy is a trooper

and she won't stop fighting

She will be okay, Nick

I collapsed into the chair and sobbed. Where was Judy when I needed her? I needed her so bad right now. Through the tears that coated me, I noticed the faintest sign of pink, still tinged my orange fur making it a shade darker than it should be. I continued to cry.

                                                                         🥕🥕🥕

1 Hour  Later (yes read in the french SpongeBob voice)

I sat on the bench outside Judy's room and watched as possibly all of Bunnyburrow trundled into her quarters. I felt sick. They probably weren't letting me in because I was a safety hazard or something. If this had been anybody else, well, Judy would've marched right up to someone and yelled at somebody to "Move the hel outta my way, because we need to get in"

But without her, I was another fox in a muzzle.

So I sat on the bench.

I saw Jill comforting her dad, tears in their eyes, (or in her dads case, spilling  out of his eyes). Then Jill saw me, and glared. Like, with hatred. A burning passion.

I looked away.

I looked up, however, when a black paw shook a glass in front of me.

The black rabbit Judy had talked to when we first got here smiled when I cocked my head questionably.

"Coffee! Was all they had, sorry. You looked like you needed something!"

I was sure I looked confused. I was, ver much so, moreso in the aspect of a rabbit talking to a fox after a rabbit was brutally hurt....BY A FOX.

"sheesh.....And I come in peace!" He raised his paws up and smirked.

He handed me the cup.

I took it.

"Max Midnight, I'm an old friend of Judys!"

I noticed one of his ears had a big 'ol bite or cut..or something taken out of it. So did his face by the looks of it too. Wondered what had happened.

"Wilde...Nick-Nicholaus Wilde." My voice sounded raspy and my throat burned. Tears threatened to well up again.

He shifted his position and I noticed he had a long tail. A bunny...with a long tail!? Different.

"Sorry to meet you under such horrible circumstances. Do you mind if I..." He pointed to the empty space next to me.

"Whatever." I looked away.

"I've had kindofa low profile, any news about her?"

I side-eyed him. "They said she'll be okay, the wounds will heal fine. She got a mild concussion from the blow she took to her head, bruised ribs, and she'll need stitches for the claw marks on her side,but-ah-it, um, it could've been worse." I sighed.

"Well thank God. This sucks. And to think it happened to Judy. Well, makes it worse."

I nodded slightly. "hmm"

"There's no chance we'll get to see her tonight is there?"

"Naah...Uhuh. I don't think so. They aren't even allowing half the Hopps mob to see her tonight."

"Didn't think so."

we sat in silence for a while.

"Sooo, Max Midnight, huh? Sounds...like a stage name. Are you a stripper?" I tried to be humorous for the sake of the optimism in Judy that I knew and loved.

He looked at me surprised, then snapped into a cocky grin. "Something like that."

We chuckled.

"Eh HM!"

We both looked down and saw Judy's mom staring patiently up at us.

"Mrs. H!" "Mrs. Hopps!"

"Nicholaus. Maxton." She nodded at each of us. "Judy asked me to bring you fellows to her room."

I just about exploded with the sudden thumping in my chest. Judy was alive. Judy was okay. And Judy wanted to see me, so this could be good or bad. "O-oh!! Thank you so much!" I practically screamed. I turned to Max.

"How about it, Twelve o'clock?"

He smiled. "Naw man, you should go alone. I can see her later."

All my confidence vanished. Alone? "O-okay then. Um I'll, just go...then?"

I waved a goodbye to Max and turned, ready or somewhat ready to face Judy.

"Thank you. For saving my daughter."

I swiveled.

Mrs. Hopps and I shared a small smile.

"I-Mrs. Hopps, I-"

"You don't have to say anything. Just go to her." She nodded at me and then left, leaving me to go.

Butt of course, I came face to face with the Ass.
