By the time you get this, l will be on a plane heading to NYC where l will start my expedition across the USA. You are probably hurt and confused as to why l decided to leave after being in a relationship with you since 8th grade and to be perfectly honest, l did not want to leave. I loved everything about our relationship. I loved the long hugs where l rest my head on your chest and l take in everything like the addicting smell of your cologne and the rhythm of your beating heart. I loved the kisses and reassuring words you would whisper into my ear as l cried into your shoulder. I loved it all but l left because l am young and not ready to be chained down by a relationship. I want to be free and see and do everything l can before l have to settle down and live the rest of my life with someone. Knowing you, you are probably lying down on the sofa in your family room while Family Guy plays on the TV. You are probably confused as to why l decided to not bring you along on my little adventure and the answer to that is because l know you. I know that you are not a traveler like me. You are a homebody that enjoys American culture like football on Sundays and grilling some food while some friends are over. You are not someone l would take to places like India because l know you will scrunch your nose at their food and culture. I hope you understand why l decided to run off, but if you don't then that's okay. I did not expect you to. I hope you find someone who treats you well and loves you as much as l did. I love you so much.
