"You've got to be kidding me! How do we already have a project on the first day of school?" Joe ranted, getting sighs from Brian, Rachel, and Kristin in return.
"On the bright side, we're all in a group together." Rachel remarked, trying to cheer everyone up.
"I'm with Joe. This flat out sucks." Kristin said, with Joe nodding in agreement.
"Stop complaining. It's not like we have a choice. When do you guys want to meet up and work on this?" Brian asked the group.
"What about Saturday?" Kristin suggested.
"Saturday's good, but where?" Joe continued.
"We could do it at my house. There's definitely enough workspace for all of us." Rachel added.
"Then it's settled. This Saturday at Rachel's place." Brian stated, gathering his things.
All 4 of them exchanged numbers and waited for the bell to ring.
Brian stood in front of his mirror, comparing his different outfits. He had been at the same activity for 30 minutes, trying to look his best for Rachel. There was a knock at his bedroom door. He opened it, revealing Joe, who was clad in Adidas from head to toe.
"Are you just going to wear your Batman boxers, or are you actually going to put on some clothes?" Joe teased, shaking his head.
"I'd put on some clothes, if I could decide what to wear! I've been at this for way too long!" Brian huffed.
"What's the big deal? I think the last thing that Rachel cares about is what you wear." Joe pointed out, sitting on Brian's bed.
"This is important. First impressions are everything." Brian explained, laying his outfit choices out on his bed.
"Okay, fine. You don't want to go all out to work on a project, but you also don't want to look like your usual self." Joe told Brian, examining all the clothes.
"What's so bad about what I usually wear?" Brian questioned, slightly offended.
"You look homeless. Girls don't like that." Joe said.
"Well then, what should I wear?" Brian continued, looking at Joe intently.
"This."
Joe handed Brian a white t-shirt, black jeans, and a dark denim jacket. He quickly changed, a little skeptical about his apparel at first.
"Shoes?" Brian wondered, opening up his closet.
"I swear, I have to do everything." Joe shook his head, throwing a white pair of converse high tops Brian's way.
After slipping on the shoes, Brian took a glance in the mirror.
"Are you sure this looks okay?" Brian fretted.
"Yes. What we need to worry about now, is getting there on time. Nobody likes someone that is late." Joe flashed a smile, as he headed down the stairs.
The two hopped in Joe's car, plugging Rachel's address into the car's GPS.
"Now Joe, I know how much you love to embarrass me, but could you not today?" Brian pleaded.
