Casper started to pace in front of his locker. Jacob wasn't at school yet and it was top priority to talk to him about what happened. He was getting nervous, occasionally biting his lip as he paced and looking at his digital watch. "You seem unease. I wonder why" a voice stated from behind Casper. He turned quickly, realizing Douglas managed to sneak up on him. "Well, it's no-" Douglas cut off Casper, his eyebrow raised in disbelief. "Don't tell me it's nothing. Just say what's on your mind" Doug insisted, leaning against the locker next to Casper's. There was a long pause before Casper sighed. "He knows. Jacob knows now" he sulked abit, regretting it becoming like this, "He's furious too". "Furious? Pfft" Douglas smirked, "Let him be then. It's not like it's any of his business about who you date so I don't see why he's always meddling". "Always?" the freckled boy tilt his head in confusion, "what is that supposed to mean?". This was the first time Casper ever actually dated another boy after spending so long crushing on Jacob more than he'll like to admit to himself. "No. I just mean, he's really protective of you" Doug stated, his eyes lightly shifting to the left. Casper's eyes followed his gaze, seeing the blonde in a grey sweatsuit approaching. His heart nearly stopped as those usually joyful green eyes fixed in a glare. "You're standing in front of my locker, birdbrain" Jacob stated, gesturing Douglas to get off. He didn't make a big argument or continued to belittle Doug as he normally would but it was obvious he was hostile still. Before Douglas could even respond, Casper stepped towards Jacob. "Is it okay if we at least talk, Jacob? Please?" Casper asked, hating that Jacob of all people is mad at him, maybe even furious. "I don't want to. It was obviously something you never meant to tell me in the first place" Jacob pushed Doug off his locker quickly, opening it to separate himself from the two. "Just think about it at least" Casper suggested before heading to his first period with Douglas. He sat at his desk, sighing as he laid his head on the desk. "Don't worry about it. If he doesn't accept it, you can't force him to" Doug tried to comfort Casper but honestly made it worse. To Casper, this was the equivalent of a child being abandoned. He loved, maybe even needed, Jacob around him. It was so weird and almost scary that Casper didn't get a smile or even a hug today. "I have to worry, Douglas. Losing Jacob is like losing family. I simply don't like this feeling" Casper muttered, looking up briefly. "Are you really thinking of him as family?" Douglas asked but not loud enough for Casper to actually hear the question. After all, he didn't want to hear the answer either. "Well, if he's really that important to you, we'll just have to get him to listen" Douglas changed his response, "after all, I hate seeing you pout all day". Casper faked a smile to briefly reassure Doug, "Yeah. Thanks for understanding". He smiled and gently stroked Casper's hand before paying attention to the lesson. Casper could at least feel some comfort in Douglas' action but his heart wouldn't settle until he cleared things up. The school day went on but no matter how or where Casper approached Jacob, the blonde would walk away and ignore him. He was close to starting a fight with Douglas when he tried to hold Jacob still. Unfortunately, the day ended without any progress. Casper went home, practically defeated as he opened the side door. His heart sank further as he saw Gregory sitting at the kitchen table. "Mom isn't home?" Casper asked, feeling Greg's harsh eyes on him. "No. She went to work already" he responded in the usually cold tone he had whenever Angela wasn't home. "Well, I'll be in my room" He quickly darted upstairs. However, Gregory grasped Casper's hand tightly causing the thin boy to tumbling down. He hissed in pain, holding his arm that seemed to have dislocated. "Stop being a sissy. I hardly touched you" Gregory stated before passing Casper at the bottom where Casper laid on his back. "You didn't have to grab me like that" Casper muttered under his breath. "Just get up, drama queen" Gregory yanked him a couple of times by the arm. "Stop! Stop! That hurts!" Casper screamed out, tears forming in his eyes. The man almost yanked another time as the side door suddenly swing open. Casper's mouth was ajar as he instantly recognized the person. "What's going on here?" Jacob asked, his eyes moving from Casper onto Gregory. He still seemed pissed but this time his anger was more directed towards Greg. "I-I fell down the stairs and Gregory was trying to help me up" Casper answered, not wanting Jacob to know the truth or to get furious, "but I think I might have a broken arm". Jacob sighed, breaking his eye lock from Gregory. He walked over to Casper, "Just move". He removed Gregory's hand before picking up the injured brunette. Casper couldn't help but blush as he felt Jacob's warm hands on his back and thigh. He was so distracted by it that he didn't notice when Jacob started to carry him outside. "W-Wait, where are you taking me?" Casper looked at Jacob. His expression seemed softer than earlier though there was still a hint of annoyed. "We're going to the hospital since he's incompetent to do that much" Jacob freed one of his hands to open the car door before placing Casper in the passenger seat. He leaned in, looking Casper directly face to face. "He didn't push you down, did he?" it was a simple question but a loaded one. If he told the truth, he had no idea what Jacob would do next. Most likely he could imagine, it would end with the two of them in a fist fight. Then what? His mother would feel guilty and she'll go back to being miserable just like when his dad died. Casper wasn't sure he could handle that so he rather just deal with the wounds and injuries. "He didn't. I just slipped" Casper looked up at him this time, "honest". Jacob sighed again, lightly ruffling his hair, "god, you drive me crazy, Cas". "Does that mean you forgive me?" he smiled hopefully. "No, I'm still mad at you" he paused, carefully buckling Casper's seatbelt, "however, when I thought that you were hurt, or worse, someone was hurting you, I just felt like my blood would boil over". His mouth gaped briefly as his heart seem to pound against his chest. Sure, Casper knew that Jacob is overprotective of him but this just felt different. Before he could respond, Jacob closed the car door and walked over to the driver side. 'I almost forgot he got his driver's license' Casper thought, now remembering Jacob's excitement about it and the celebration they had. However, this was the first time he ever saw Jacob drive. Jacob smoothly pulled off the driveway once he was buckled in, looking really cool and mature to Casper now. He bit his lip when Jacob glanced at him before focusing on the road. "About what happened, I know that you're mad but I really wanted to tell you. I just didn't know how and well, I was scared of what you'll think if you knew I was gay. so I'm sorry for keeping it a secret from you, Jacob". There was a long silence after Casper got that off his chest. "I'm not mad that you're gay, Cas, it's actually the opposite. I'm just pissed off that you're dating Douglas of all people. To make it worse, he kissed the same lips I did. Thinking about me having Douglas germs on my mouth makes me want to puke" Jacob did a gesture of gagging before chuckling. Casper smiled happily when he heard that. "Well if it makes you feel better, we only kissed like twice" he bit his lip again," and he wasn't my first kiss either". Jacob smirked then, looking over at Casper as he stopped at a red light. "I know I was" his smirk grew more devious. The freckled boy's face became a deep red ear to ear. It was true but the memory of that day was enough to embarrass Casper immediately. It was back when they were about ten years old. Jacob was invited to a friend's birthday party but of course, Casper cried until Jacob brought him along.

"Look, Cas, look. We're here, okay? No more crying, alright?" Jacob hushed the still crying boy as they sat in the backseat of the SUV. Casper let Jacob wipe the tears from his eyes as he looked out the window at a house he never seen before. "We're leaving now, mom" Jacob stated, briefly kissing the cheek of the blonde woman in the front. "Bye, Ms. Katherine" Casper muttered, also kissing the cheek that Jacob did. "Have fun you two" Katherine smiled as the two boys exited the car. Casper held his hand tightly as he felt more nervous the closer he got to the door. He wasn't invited and he wouldn't know anyone else there but he still insisted on coming along. Jacob smiled reassuringly before knocking on the door three times. A tall boy with a black bowl cut hair and a crown on his head answered the door with a huge grin. "Jacob, you're finally here! Everyone else is inside" the boy's attention now on Casper, "who's this?". The question seemed to catch the attention of other kids as several more heads appeared at the door way. "He's so small and cute" a strawberry blonde girl exclaimed. "Boys can't be cute" a pudgy boy retorted. "What's his name, Jacob?" a curly haired girl asked. Casper was always shy around new people and hid behind Jacob as he observed the others. "This is my friend, Casper. I thought it would be fun to bring him" he shooed the kids back inside as he entered, "but he's not used to others so don't crowd around him suddenly". "Oh, sorry, Casper" the boy who Casper assumed the birthday party was for him based on the crown he wore. "It's okay" Casper muttered, giving a smile more so Jacob knew it was okay. The party was normal at first; they ate pizza and cake, played pin the tail on the donkey and even did the cha-cha slide. However, it changed when the crowned boy lead the kids into his room with a bottle in his hand. Instinctively, they all sat in a circle on the floor to play 7-minutes in Heaven. The first round, the birthday boy and strawberry blonde came out the closet grinning. The second round wasn't so luckily as the curly haired girl looked disgusted as she wiped off cake frosting that used to be on the pudgy boy's face. Now it was Jacob's turn to spin the bottle. Casper's eyes focused on it, hoping that miraculously the bottle would land on him. It didn't as it stopped on the strawberry blonde again. This is where Casper always felt so ashamed or embarrassed. Being so upset, he reached over and placed the bottle so that it pointed at him. "You can't do that, Casper. The bottle landed on me" she pouted, moving the bottle back. "It's not fair! You already had a turn. I want to play now!!" Casper started to throw a tantrum, grabbing the bottle and holding it to his chest. Jacob sat there trying to hide his laughter behind a grin as he watched the girl struggle get Casper to let go of the bottle. "Just let him go. He's a little kid after all" the birthday boy stated, "unless you like Jacob or something". Both Casper and the blonde girl blushed. Casper was the same age as the others but he always been short in stature so people assume he's younger. As for the girl, he thought that she did like Jacob which was even more reason to keep the bottle from her. Jacob bursted out laughing then, covering his face as he did. It was amusing seeing the usually shy and reserved Casper throw a fit over something so minor. "Alright, alright. Come, Casper, I'll tell you how the big kids play this game" Jacob snickered, offering his hand to him. Casper pouted but accepted it as he was lead into the closet. Jacob closed the door behind them. "I'm not a little kid" he lightly punched Jacob in the arm. The blonde chuckled again, his green eyes fixated on Casper, "You're the one who was having a fit". "That's because sh-" Before he could finish his sentence, Jacob had lean in and kissed him on the lips. His brown eyes went wide as he stared at Jacob. His lips felt warm and soft as he kissed him gently. His hands cupped Casper's face so he wouldn't move either. Those five minutes felt like forever to Casper. If he could recall correctly, this is when they started to kiss on the lips whenever they played house.

"You're still embarrassed about it? I thought it was pretty funny" Jacob laughed as he pulled into a parking spot. "Yes, I am. I acted like a total brat just for a kiss" Casper rubbed his face with his good arm. "That was the cute part about it" He smirked, getting out the car. He opened the passenger door and carefully took out Casper. "You don't have to carry me this time. I can walk" Those warm brown eyes looked up at him, his timidity showing through them. There was a pause as a hand stroked Casper's cheek while Jacob kissed him softly.
