Casper let out an euphoric gasp as Jacob separated himself. "Play fair next time" Jacob muttered, his forehead against Casper's. The blushing boy simply nodded, confused as to what Jacob was talking about. 'How was I being unfair just now?' he thought, a million other thoughts running through his mind. "Let's go. The ER is probably crowded" Jacob stated, gesturing to the entrance up ahead. Casper nodded again, following along as he still tried to piece together what just happened. There was quite a couple of people already present when they entered through the double glass door. "Are you going to register or am I?" Jacob asked, looking at the counter where a nurse in baby blue scrubs. "I'll do it" Casper walked over to the counter, using his good hand to fetch his wallet from his back pocket and pull out his insurance card that luckily his mother told him to have at all times. The nurse asked the standard questions like what's his name, was he registered at the hospital, if he had insurance and why he came in today. Once Casper answered all of that, the nurse placed the white patient wristband on his wrist. "Thank you, sir" Casper stated before going to sit next to Jacob in waiting area. Jacob was looking at his phone, scrolling through memes on Instagram. Casper lightly laid his head on his shoulder, trying to get a better look at the screen, "You really like Arthur memes, huh?". "I always like the classics" Jacob chuckled, liking a few memes on the explore page. "What's that one?" Casper asked, pointing to a video on the side. "Let's see" Jacob said, clicking the video for him. Mask off started to play as cars began to swerve side to side with the beat. "I kind of want to try this" Jacob smirked, looking at the mortified face on Casper. "Please don't. Tell you won't" Casper worried that he would actually do it especially since it's Jacob. "It was a joke" he chuckled, flashing a charming smile that made some other patients glance at him as well. Casper pouted, "you say that but we both know you can be reckless". "Fair enough" Jacob scrolled through more memes to show Casper. Ten minutes later, Casper was called into an examination room. Jacob sat on a stool beside the bed as he watched the doctor do the regular tests before examining the arm. The doctor lightly bend Casper's arm up and down, using her hands to hold it up. "Does it hurt when it's up or when it's down?" she asked, noticing her patient biting his lip to not whimper in pain. "It hurts a lot when you hold it up" Casper stated, trying to adjust his arm. The doctor released him, scribbling on her clipboard before looking at Casper, "Did you do anything that could have pulled your muscles? Maybe in move your joints?". He hesitated for awhile, "um...well, I had fell down a flight of stairs". She scribbled on her clipboard again, "we'll have you take an x-ray to see if it's just inflammation or dislocated, get you treated and you'll be able to go home. Sounds good?". "Yes, it does. Thank you" Casper was relieved that it wasn't something too serious. Maybe it would be enough to deceive his mom and then eventually, or hopefully, Jacob. "Can I sign your sling, Evan?" Jacob teased, now taking a seat on the edge of the bed. "Oh very funny. But wouldn't that make you Connor?" Casper smirked, noticing Jacob's contemplation about that. "Now that's a valid argument" Jacob remarked, looking at Casper, "hey, are you sure Gregory didn't do anything? You can be honest. He's not here". "Yeah, I'm sure. It's just normal clumsy Cas, nothing to worry about" he faked a chuckle and a smile. Of course it wasn't okay to lie like this. Any other circumstance and he would have most likely told his mom and Jacob after the first incident. But he just couldn't bring himself to do it this time even after all the slaps, punches and slurs. He didn't even understand why Gregory hated gay people so much. There was no reason like religion or social norms that aren't an excuse but would help to understand why. There was nothing but hate from what Casper could tell and all that hate was directed at him. Tears started to fall down his cheeks. "Are you okay, Cas? Is it because it hurts?" Jacob asked, looking towards his shoulder. It did start to turn reddish purple. "Yeah, it does hurts. It really hurts" he couldn't even tell whether he meant the pain in his shoulder or the one in his heart. It could be a combination of both. "It's going to be alright. It'll feel better sooner than you'll think" Jacob stroked his hair gently. There was a knock on the room's door as blonde hair nurse in white scrubs peeked in. "So it was my Casper admitted" the nurse flashed a warm smile as her cool blue eyes looked welcoming. "Hello, Ms. Katherine" Casper smiled and blushed a bit. He wasn't interested in women but Katherine always made him feel all fuzzy. Maybe it's because Jacob and her look so similar. "I forgot you worked here" Jacob chuckled as Katherine playfully slapped him upside the head. "Casper, do you want to be my son? I need to return this one" she stated, helping Casper off the bed. "I'll think about it with my mom" he laughed, as Jacob pretended to be sobbing. Katherine lead him down the hallway to the x-ray room. "Need help taking off yours shirt?" she asked as she began to prep the machine. "I got it" Casper took his time to take his arm out of one sleeve, move the shirt over his head and then off his injured arm. He placed it on a nearby chair before standing where Katherine instructed him. Once they were taken, he put back on his shirt and followed Katherine out the door. "I'm going to give these x-ray to the doctor and once she determines a diagnosis, Jacob can take you home. If you need any medication, I could give it to Angeline personally" Katherine led him back to the room, opening the door for him. "Thank you very much, ms. Katherine" he sat back on the bed where Jacob waited. He sat there, staring at his phone. He wasn't laughing or smiling but had his brows furrowed in thought and some irritation. "Did something happen?" he asked, hoping it had nothing to do with Gregory or Douglas. "Well you're not going to like this at all" he warned, showing a photo of them kissing from earlier and it's posted on Instagram. With a thousand views.
