"A horn is a horn only if ya take it on. C'est la vie, C'est la, C'est la, C'est la vie." Kam mumbled to herself as she sat on her couch, reading a National Geographic Article while munching on a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats.
"If you want to kill yourself, start by jumping in the pond." She yelled out by putting two fingers in the air, mocking a gun. The sound of the a small chuckle filled her ears as Brandon walked into the living room.
"You get a little too excited for that song Bae." He said smiling at her as he pecked her lips and took a seat next to her on the couch. "So How was your day."
"Same ole same ole." She said with a shrug as she continued to eat her cereal. Kam was stuck at a crossroad. She recently quit her job due to it interfering with her mental health and had no success over the last year of getting into university. It was quite frustrating for the young woman, but she was lucky to have Brandon by her side so she wouldn't go completely crazy.
"I saw your new post on your blog. Kyle says to stop throwing shade at him." Brandon said with a small chuckle as he rested his head on her lap. Kam sucked her teeth as she laughed a bit.
"If he and Zo would stop doing dumb shit like yelling in a restaurant about which type of cheese is better, he would've been off the hook." Kam stated as she reminded her boyfriend about his crazy teammates.
"Them niggas weird." Brandon mumbled. Silence fell between the couple as Kam played with his hair. As she ran her fingers through his hair, Kam rolled her eyes as she noticed his scalp was dry.
"Boy, when last ya grease ya scalp boy. Ting dry dry." She said with a heavy Saint Martin accent as she pushed his head off her lap.
"You see right." He started off, earning a glare from her. Kam shook her head as she walked towards their bedroom to get her hair oils and moisturizers. Brandon chuckled to himself, finding it amusing when she gets angry a bit. Kam came back out with her bottles in her hand and a towel over her shoulder as she directed for him to sit on the floor.
"All you ga do, is oil ya hair dawg. Das all." Kam mumbled as she aggressively push his head to the side, spraying the first mixture onto his scalp.
"Aye aye. No need to be rough. But I can get rough later." He said with a small smirk.
"Buh bye with ya nasty ass." Kam said making him laugh again. Kam's phone dinged, signaling a notification.
"Let me find out you out here talking to other niggas." Brandon said in a serious tone as Kam rolled her eyes.
"I wouldn't be greasing ya nappy head if I was. So please check my phone for me." She said as she tapped his cheek with the spray bottle. Brandon stretched to get her phone, quickly unlocking it, seeing she got an email.
"OOOOOO Kam Kam kam..... looks like you're going to college babe."
"What?" She yelled as she rubbed the oils off her hands onto his shirt, taking the phone from his hands.
"I am very happy to report that you have been accepted to for admission to ... OH SHIT." She jumped up as she read the email.
"BLOOP BLOOP BLOOP BLOOP." Kam yelled as she ran around the living room. Brandon chuckled as he recorded her celebrating her admission.
"I gota tell my parents, I gota call the squad. OH SHIT THIS IS LIT." She said as she started to twerk. Brandon smiled at her as he was happy she was finally on her next step to achieving her goals.
"Come here dumpling" He said as he brought her into a deep hug. Tears of joy ran down her face as she embraced the man that had her back for the last two years. She couldn't wait for what God had destined for her, and she was thankful for making it this far.
"I'm proud of you. You are one of the most influential persons I know and I am glad that you finally got through" He said as he rubbed her back. Kam smiled at him as she pressed her lips on his, expressing her gratitude towards him.
