Chapter 31

Dusty's POV

I woke up to see that it was Scarlet who came out. Scarlet was still asleep. I looked and saw everyone was in the ring riding. Sarah and Emily were sitting on the railing to the pasture.

"Dusty's awake." Sarah told Emily. Emily got off and walked over to me.

"You ok? You always sleep in your stall, even back at the ranch and I would leave the door open, you were still in your stall." She said. She was worried about me. I felt bad for her. If she saw what happened last night, she would understand.

"I called the vet, they should be here in 20 minutes." Will told Emily. He walked up to her. "I'm sure Dusty's fine. He's from the wild, he's a fighter." Will said. Emily nodded. She started to pet my neck. Why the vet? I'm completely fine. Nothing's wrong with me. I heard Scarlet moving. Sarah got off the railing and went to Scarlet.

"Hey girl. How come you slept out here?" Sarah asked. Scarlet looked to me.

"I'm sure the vet will find out what's wrong with them. Now come on." Will said. The three of them walked over to the ring. Sarah and Emily sat on the railing while Will mounted on to Jimber and started to teach the lesson.

"Why did you come out here?" I asked her.

"I wanted to see if you were ok, but you were asleep and I didn't wanted to go back in there." Scarlet said while motioning to the barn. "I woke up earlier, but I fell back asleep. Before I went back to sleep, Aztec told me that Snowflake slept in your stall." Scarlet said.

"Oh great. What did she cry herself to sleep?" I asked. Snowflake was making me angry and was annoying me.

"Actually, they said she did." Scarlet said. She started laughing.

"I don't see how this is funny? Your not the one who's getting annoyed by this horse." I snapped. Scarlet started laughing.

"It's funny to see you mad." She said. I rolled my eyes. I heard tires coming. Scarlet stopped laughing and got scared.

"Your afraid of the vet?" I asked. She nodded. I started laughing.

"Ok, what are you afraid of then?" She asked. I stopped. I used to be afraid of nothing. I could go up to anything and not be scared. In any situation I would be the one who was the most calm.

"Fire." I replied.

"Because of what happened back at the ranch?" Scarlet asked. I nodded. The vet came out of the truck. Sarah, Emily, and Will came up to him. I look to Scarlet.

"Just think of the vet, someone who wants to protect Sarah. By helping you get better, you'll be able to make sure Sarah won't get hurt when she's with you." I said. She nodded. The vet came over to us. I looked at him. He was inspecting my body.

"Strong one. Where was he born?" The vet said.

"He was born in the wild. He came to my family's ranch one day and we took him in. My dad has papers saying we legally adopted him." Emily replied.

"Back at the ranch, would he ever do something like this?" The vet asked.

"Never. I would even leave his stall wide open at night and he would still be there in the morning." Emily said. He went over to Scarlet.

"Scarlet never did something like this. She always stayed in her stall at night." Sarah said.

"They both look fine, I don't know about Scarlet, but I think that wild one just miss being able to sleep outside. Give it a couple weeks, if he still does it, call me." The vet said. He got in his truck and drove away. Emily came up to me.

"Well, we have that camping trip tonight, so tomorrow night we'll keep track of how he behaves." Will said. He turned to everyone else. "Ok, everyone go home and pack for tonight." Will told them. Adriana came up to Will.

"What's tonight babe?" She asked.

"We have a camping trip." Will said.

"Can I share a tent with you?" She asked. She batted her eyelashes. Emily turned to Sarah. She did a throwing up motion. Sarah covered her mouth, but she wanted to laugh. Will walked away. Adriana stared after him. Snowflake stared at me. I got up and walked out of the pasture. Can this day get worse?
