(VIOLETS POV)

I don't I will ever understand why it's so heart breaking to let your child spend the night at someone else's house for the first time. Even if it is her dad, she hasn't left my side for the past seven years of her life. So dropping her off at Monte's house Friday afternoon just about killed me, but, she was excited and I wasn't going to take that from her. Now I just have to figure out what I'm going to do with my life until she comes home on Sunday.

I was cleaning my room when I got a call from Mike. I hadn't really talked to him, Vic, or Jaime since Gracie's party so I thought it was a pleasant surprise......boy was I wrong.

"Hello?"

"Violet, have you seen Tony?"

"Mike, I haven't seen Tony since he left here last Saturday when Stephanie cheated on him."

"Wait.......she WHAT?" me and my big mouth....

"Yeah he came over crying and told me about how he found her in bed with another guy. I asked him if he wanted to spend the night, but he said he had something to tell you, I assumed it was that she cheated."

"That's actually not what he wanted to tell me at all." What is Mike talking about?

"Okay well I'm gonna go over to his house and look for him I'll let you know what I find." I couldn't help but think that I was starting to sound like a private investigator or something.

"I already tried there but good luck anyway."

Mike hung up sounding extremely pissed at me. How was I supposed to know he already looked there, either way I'm going to go back and check.

Slipping on my Vans I opened the door just as Vic and Jaime were about to knock.

"Hey guys what's up?" I pulled my keys out of the door and found Tony's house key that he had given me when I first moved next door.

"Well we were wondering if you had seen Tony." Vic had a worried look on his face and gave me hopeful eyes.

"Actually I was just about to go look for him, Mike just called me, but he didn't really explain why Tony was missing." Jaime looked down at his feet while Vic bit his lip. I was about to ask if they knew when Jaime beat me to it.

"Tony said he wanted to have a little break from the band while we weren't on tour and Mike got upset and started yelling and screaming at him." I looked at him in disbelief, Tony wants to leave the band? I don't think to boys understood him correctly, but I can't tell unless I find Tony. Just as I was thinking that, I looked up to see a figure moving around on Tonys roof. It should have clicked before, Tony ALWAYS goes on the roof when he's upset, or drunk. I hope it's not the second suggestion.

"Guys? I'm gonna have to see you later." I ran away from Vic and Jaime and straight to Tonys house, not waiting for their response. I took a b-line for the stairs and straight to the attic. I pulled down the door and moved out of the way as the stairs fell out. Climbing up the stairs I couldn't help but feel and aching pain in my stomach.

"Tony?" I called to him as I finally reached the roof.

"Go Away!" a drunken voiced yelled back at me. All I could do was sigh, this is how you can yell when Tony is upset. He gets really drunk and climbs on the roof.

"Tony, what are you doing up here?" I sat down next to him and took the bottle from his hand.

"What are you doing up here?" he looked at me straight in the eyes like he really had no clue.

"Tony, why did you want to take a break from the band?" His drunken smile fell and you can tell that he quickly sobered up.

"Only until we started touring again, I'll still practice. I just don't want to be here, but the guys wouldn't get that. How can I stay in the place where she cheated on me?" He dropped his gaze from me and stared at the shingles on the roof. Slowly bringing his knees to his chest, you could hear the quiet sobs coming from him.

"Oh turtle, you know you could have just told them what happened, I know it hurts, but they are your best friends. They will always understand, I'm sure they would even give you a room at their house just so you wouldn't have to stay here, all you need to do is tell them." The shine in his eyes seemed to reappear as he realized what I was saying. It was good to see Tony back to normal, after the past week he had, It was nice to see his smile.

"Violet, thank you for everything. I know you don't really have to go out and find us on roofs when we are drunk, but you do it anyway, even when you have other things to think about. So thanks, a lot!" He looked at me and smiled, there was nothing else I could do besides hug him.

"No problem Tony, you know I will always be here for you guys!" He nodded and showed me the way off the roof, thankfully I didn't fall!

Deciding on whether or not to go back to the house was the hardest part, but there was something I needed to do. I pulled out my phone and went to the contact I was looking for.

Me: Hey, is Gracie asleep.

Monte$: Yeah, why do you need me to wake her up?

Me: No, I actually need to come and talk with you.

Monte$: Should I be scared?

Me: Am I really that scary?

Monte$: No, and I'll have the door unlocked for you.

Me: ok I'm on my way.

I put my phone in my pocket and pulled my keys out. Well, this should be interesting.

(Monte POV)

I had just put Gracie to sleep when I got violets text, to be honest, I was extremely nervous. After want happened a week ago, I was sure she was never going to talk to me again. I was washing dishes when I heard the front door open.

"Monte?"

"In the kitchen." I heard her shoes hitting the floor as she took small steps twords the kitchen. A moment later she appeared wearing her Nightmare Before Christmas jacket, a pair of blue Jean shorts, light blue Vans and her Of Mice & Men shirt. Her read hair was curled and she looked like she was extremely tired.

"Hey." her voice was small and sounded broken. I could feel my heart breaking at the thought of her being hurt. Was it my fault?

"Hey, do you want something to drink?"

"Um, no not really, but I really need to talk to you." I started getting nervous again.

"Um,  Okay, let's sit down on the couch." she took off her jacket and hung it on the back of one of the dining room chairs. We walked over to the couch and sat down two feet apart. I slightly turned towards her and watched as She faced me, tucking one leg under the other. She opened her mouth to say something but immediately closed it. I then took my turn to speak.

"Violet, I wanted to say sorry about the other day. I was wrong to yell at you and say those things, I just, I really like you, I never stopped liking you and when I saw him leave your house, I just started assuming the worst. We aren't even together, but the thought of you with someone else pains me so much, that I can't take it. I shouldn't have yelled and I shouldn't have said those things. and I'm sorry for ever hurting you. Violet, I just don't want to let us go."

She sat on there looking at me for a minute before she looked down at her hands.

"Monte, I don't hate you. I mean I used to, but I've grown up since then. I never regretted being with you because look at what I got from it. I have a beautiful daughter, a great job, amazing friends. Things happen for a reason Monte, and yeah, maybe I was a little hurt last week, but that wasn't an excuse to say what I said. I got caught up in the moment like you did, but now we have to make sure that we communicate better, not just for our sake, but for the sake of our daughter too." Her green eyes bore into my brown ones. She was right, if we wanted to make this work we were gonna have to listen to each other, then maybe, just maybe, We won't have another rooftop incident......
