Little Monster

I saw It again last night as I walked out of the bathroom towards my bed.

It was pressed up against the wall in the corner nearest the place where my head rests.

The small hairless frame of the creature is not what bothered me.

Neither did it's smile laced with small sharp teeth.

It was the eyes, or lack there of. Deep dark sockets focused on my movements.

When I'm alone in my room like this is when it choses to stay in my sight the longest.

I usually only see it for fleeting moments in the corners of my eyes during the day.

Either hiding in a corner avoiding the eyes of others, or showing itself as it hangs off me, holding on with a tight grip.

It's long slender fingers locking to form a seal that can not be broken or shaken loose.

But at night is when I will wake up from my sleep to see it resting ontop of me.

Staring into my eyes.

It's sharp nails digging into me until I can not ignore it any longer.

It frightens me mostly, but other times I laugh with it, or cry with it.

But no matter what, the thought of it is constantly on my mind.
