Daniel's POV

I woke up to the ridiculously annoying sound of my alarm clock, notifying me that it's time for my first day of work.

Getting up I sighed, not really ready to face the real world just yet.
You see, I'm what some would call an introvert.
I like my own company. I like my dog, Scruffy, and my best friend, Henry.
Yeah, that's about it.

Dragging my feet to the bathroom I manage to undress myself and get in the shower. I've always been quite fond of ice cold showers, I love the way they make me feel so alive.

After getting dressed in my black jeans and dark blue dress shirt with black tie, I freshen up in the bathroom and make my way to the kitchen.
My apartment is very small; one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen and a semi lounge type thing.
One thing I take pride in would definitely be my tv. It's pretty big. I'm pretty proud.
You see, I love my movies. Looove them. Couldn't live without them.

I decide to grab a muffin at the coffee shop next door since I'm quite early anyway.
Before locking my door, I give my dog, Scruffy his food, hide some treats all over the place and put some dog tv on for him. What? Otherwise he'll get too lonely...

Walking out of the building, I stop and take a big breath of fresh air. Man I love winter.
The air is so crisp and cold and the smell of rain from last night still lingers.
As I reach the shop I step inside and instantly my mouth starts to salivate at the smell of the freshly baked goods.
If you're wondering, I'm an absolute foodie.
I eat. A lot.
It's a wonder I'm not crazy chubby.

I get to the front of the line and just as I'm about to order, I get pushed out of the way by a really bitchy looking girl in a really short skirt and a work blazer.
"Uhm.." I'm about to interrupt but my social anxiety kicks in and I decide to stand back.
As I step away from the girl my eye catches someone staring at me and I look to my right.

I gasp as I take in the most beautiful human being I have ever seen.
His cold, emotionless eyes. His strong jawline with his teasing stubble.
His body, oh his body... he looks so irresistible in his tight fitted suit, his muscles threatening to break free under the constraints of the material.
How I wish I could run my hand down his strong chest and have him wrap his muscular arms around me.

All of a sudden I get pushed by the girl again and jolt back to reality. I blush as I realize that I was openly checking him out and look down to my feet.
The lady at the counter tries to get my attention and I snap out of it, stepping forward to place my order.
After deciding on a blueberry muffin and an extra large cappuccino, I patted my pockets, looking for my wallet.
As I'm about to take out my card a strong hand comes into my view and slips a hundred dollar bill to the barista.
"Keep the change."
My heart starts racing out of my chest as I process that the sexiest, deepest voice I've ever heard has come from the sex god stood next to me. You know the irresistible one with the muscles threatening to burst out of the shirt?
That one.

We make eye contact and I  swear I can see a twinkle of emotion in those cold eyes of his.
He clears his throat and before I can thank him, he swiftly turns and walks out, the bitch and a few other business men trailing behind him.

I try my hardest to calm myself down enough to accept my order and walk outside.
The day has just begun and yet it's the most excitement I've had in years.
Stuffing my face with the muffin, I reach into my pocket to answer my ringing phone.

"Danieeeeeeel!!" Henry screeches.
I roll my eyes and pull the phone away from my ear.
"Hi Henry," I reply.
"You there yet? I'm so excited oh my gosh! I can't believe we're starting our first day of work! And together! We're gonna have so mu-" I cut him off before he can ramble my ear off. "Henry, Henry. Calm down. I'm almost there. Meet you outside in 5."
I put the phone down and continue my short walk to work.
I was lucky enough to get an apartment very close to basically everything. I've got the cinema about two blocks away, the coffee shop right next door, my work a brief 10 minute walk and don't forget my favorite pizza place not much further than that.

As I reach the 30 story building, I take one last big gulp of my coffee before throwing it in the nearest trash can and stepping through the automatic sliding doors.
My breath catches in my throat as I take in the astonishingly sleek atmosphere.
It's all so minimalistic, yet says so much.
The whole building is decorated in black, white, dark grey and mahogany wood.
There's black leather couches uniformly scattered by the posh looking reception desk.
Behind the desk is a woman looking to be in her early twenties.
Henry immediately comes up behind me, gives me a hug and we start walking to the receptionist.
After introducing ourselves and finding out that her name is Lucy Blake, she informed us on what we'll need to bring on a daily basis, gave us our ID badges and sent us off to the 17th floor.

"This is so exciting!" Henry scream whispers and I just nod my head with a small smile.
We reach the elevator and he's so excited I don't even have a chance to blink before he presses the button. I laugh at him and we continue to talk about our new journey together when the lift dings, signaling that we've reached our destination.
We step out of the elevator and make our way to the main conference room on the floor. Inside we meet up with the man who we will be reporting to directly, Mr Smith.
"Hello. My name is Mr Smith. You will address me as that and only that. You will report to me every day and we will have end of week meetings every Friday at 4:30 sharp. Any questions? No? Okay. Daniel Walker, your cubicle number is J10. Henry Evans, yours is J23. Go get settled in, my assistant will be with you soon." With that, Mr Smith walked away, leaving us staring after him.
I shake my head and take Henry's arm, dragging him to where I think section J is.
