the biggest things that make me happy is music. and not just music. good music.
i love music. music is my absolute passion nowadays. actually, ever since i was a little girl music has always been my passion. i love sound and audio and i couldn't stand ever losing my hearing abilities. i don't know how i would get on.
i'm not going to say "oh i'm not like other girls because i have a good taste in music!" because i'm not going to be like that.
(i do think i have a good taste in music but that's not the point.)
i like indie bands and singers and rock and alternative and alt-rock and pop-punk and anything like those genres.
all the bands/singers i listen to i definitely recommend. music has to sound a certain way for me and even if you don't like my genres then that is completely fine, these songs are perfect to make you feel a purpose, or at least a sense of one.
bands i suggest:
• neck deep
oh wow, neck deep, MY LOVES. neck deep have so many good pop-punk/rock songs that are the absolute best. a good song i suggest from them that makes me feel like i'm not alone is called 'in bloom'. i think this song is about the lead singer's dad, but my interpretation, like how i interpret every song, is different. i just think of my future relationships when i hear this song. have a listen. this video is also very aesthetic.
• waterparks
waterparks are my second favourite band of all time. we will get to first later. waterparks have literally saved my f*cking life. i have nothing else to say other than they are my world. i don't know what i would do without waterparks.
the lead singer awsten has so many emotions that he portrays so well lyrically and instrumentally. he's a great musician and a genius lyric-writer. i suggest listening to 'not warriors' or 'powerless'. they are some of my favourite songs from two different albums that have so much meaning to me. i will link both, 'not warriors' first and 'powerless' last.
• declan mckenna
i cannot iterate how much i love declan mckenna and his style of music. lots of his music sounds very indie but he has aspects of almost electronic music in his songs and a bit poppy too. he isn't mainstream in anyway which i love about him, and he's always such a good role model. he's always breaking gender roles, wearing make-up and wearing dresses and painting his nails. his band consists of a female drummer and guitarist and he's also vegan. and he's only nineteen, and he's teaching kids powerful messages, which i respect and preach.
my favourite song by dec is 'paracetamol' which is a song that uses the aspects i mentioned.
• all time low
all time low...wowie.
i love all time low with all my heart and soul.
all time low do everything for me, they make me feel worth everything. especially their older stuff. they used to be very pop-punk/pop-rock but i would call them alternative/alt-rock now. one of my favourite songs by all time low is called 'missing you'. it makes me feel like i'm not alone in this world. just listen to the song and you'll know what i mean.
