My First Love

Chapter 8 : Couple of weeks later

This morning when I woke up I didn't feel good. I even threw up before I took my shower. Once I got to school I threw up again. All through school I felt horrible. After school Tay asked if I was feeling good , I guess you could just see it in my face. So I told him how I had been throwing up so we went to the emergency room. Once they finally called me back they did everything they had to do. While the nurse was gone Tay and I was watching some reruns of Bring It. As it went on commercial the nurse came in and asked me if I was sexually active. I told her maybe once, looking confused. And she said well I believe you're pregnant. Tay said, "wait, what? Pregnant?". The nurse replied, "yes, I'll let you guys talk and I'll be back in a few". We both sat there quiet until Tay looked at me asking what were we gonna do and I told him he knew I didn't believe in abortion and he agreed with me. Then he asked, "so we're keeping this baby"? I responded, "I guess so". The nurse entered the room asking have we made any decisions. We told her that we would be keeping the baby. So she gave us some pamphlets, and a list of prenatal vitamins I should get. After I had everything, me and Tay left and went to get dinner to talk about how we are going to tell my parents. He told me, "baby you have to be honest and tell them about it." So when I got home I called a family meeting. We only had those when we have very important business to handle. So when they got in there, my daddy looked at Tay and said, "what you do?" Tay said, "aye, I didn't do it by myself". I looked at Tay like shut up. I said mom, dad.. I don't know how to tell you this but uhh ... I'm pregnant.

That caught mom by a surprise. Daddy said, "what"? I said, "Tay and I are having a baby". Both of them looked at each other with a weird look on their face. They asked if I we were going to give it up for adoption or have a abortion. "If we was grown enough to make a baby then we're grown enough to raise one. I'm not the type to just get rid of my responsibilities when I knew what the consequences of having sex could lead to', I stated. Mom said, "well that's y'all baby and y'all decision and I respect it a 100%". Daddy agreed with my mama, then took Tay outside so they could talk.

"Danta, you know a lot of responsibilities come with having a baby", Zonnique's father tells Tay. Tay responds, "yes sir, I understand. I'm always gonna be here for Niquenique and the baby. I made this baby and I'm going to take of this baby, no matter what it takes. I know it's gonna be hard, but we will make it". "You got a good head on your shoulders boy, and I like that about you", Zonnique's father states.

"Hey, we're just talking about baby names", Niquenique says. "I like the name Rylei if it's a girl", Tay said. Zonnique's daddy asked, "and what if it's a boy?" "What about Dantavious💥, if it's a boy", Zonnique's mother says. After a few names we go out for dinner. We decided to go to TGI Fridays. While we waited for our food we talked more about the baby and gathered a few baby shower plans, just to plan ahead. "If it's a girl I want everything to be pink and brown. But if it's a boy I want it blue and brown", Zonnique says.
