Do you ever just have a moment where everything is absolutely perfect and you wish you could just take a photograph and save it in your mind forever? Right now, right this second, is one of those moments for me, because I'm here with my four favorite people in the world, laughing like nothing could ever bring us down, smiling like it doesn't matter what the future holds. Right now, everything is beautiful.
I throw back my head and laugh as Geo struggles to get his big bass case in through the revolving door of the hotel. Augustine is awkwardly trying to help him get it to fit in one section of the door so they can push it through, but they're having quite a time of it. Terra, Blizzard, and I just stand right inside the lobby, laughing and laughing and laughing, and the two poor boys also keep laughing so hard they can barely manage to do anything to the bass case besides fall against it in joyful hysterics.
"Are they drunk?" I hear the older Star Warrior lady standing at the front desk ask in a self-righteous, suspicious tone.
The Halfling (half-Star Warrior, half-Halcandran, in this case) bellhop standing at attention next to her shakes his head, trying not to chuckle himself. "They're 'The Revolution.' They're always like this." I turn around to glance at them, still laughing.
"Hmph," the lady snorts, glaring past a pair of spectacles right at me, as if the lack of decorum is somehow my fault. "It isn't proper." Somehow, I suddenly wonder if by 'it' she means the laughter, or me.
Frowning a bit as my face flushes, I turn back to the others, only to laugh despite myself when Geo, Augustine, and the bass all come falling through the revolving door onto the lobby floor. Choking back laughter himself, the bellhop comes over and picks up the bass case before tipping his hat. "I'll get this up to your room, boys."
"Thanks, friend," I grin at him, tossing him a half dollar, which he catches in one glove with a grateful smile. I turn to the others as they all try to calm themselves down from their laughter, and help Geo up while Blizzard assists Augustine. The five of us head for the elevator to make the slow ride up to our floor.
As soon as the doors of the elevator slide closed, Geo pulls Terra in close. "Terra, darling, you were an absolute angel onstage tonight, just like always."
Terra blushes and laughs as she places one glove on his cheek. "You were pretty spectacular yourself, sweetheart."
Geo chuckles back before kissing her gently, holding her face in one of his gloves.
"Awwww," I croon with a faux-dreamy smile as I put one arm around Augustine and the other around Blizzard. "Aren't they just so gross?"
Augustine snickers as he leans one arm on my shoulder. "Absolutely disgusting."
Blizzard snorts as he does the same on my other side. "Utterly repellant."
Terra waves us off with one glove as Geo breaks the kiss. "Aw, you all just hush. I'll be the one making fun of you kissin' somebody one of these days; you all just wait and see."
Geo snickers himself as he lets Terra go, smirking over at the three of us. "She's right, you know. You're all gonna find somebody one day."
I laugh and roll my eyes. "What happened to 'I don't think you'll ever be ready to settle down, little sister?'"
Geo laughs again, while Terra suddenly seems to remember something and smirks at me.
"What are you smiling like the cat who ate the canary about?" I tease her.
She giggles. "Oh, just you. If you want 'absolutely disgusting,' just look at your flirtin' earlier."
I make a face at her, waving the suggestion off with one glove. "Aw, come off it. There's nothing wrong with a little innocent flirtin'. It's fun."
