~Lucille's Point of View~

We decided to continue on our way to London as there were doctors in London and even though I knew his sutures were perfect, it looked better for me to show concern and keep pretending I was a novice. Rose sent word to Lord Phantomhive about what had happened. We got Anders comfortably into the London estate and Silas went to fetch a doctor.

I sat at the chair at Anders' bedside as he fell in and out of consciousness, his wounds were pretty severe and the alcohol I'd given him to dull the pain was strong. Rose screamed from the kitchen and I instinctively reached out and pressed my hand to Anders' uninjured shoulder holding him in place as he attempted to jolt out of bed.

"You stay put." I ordered him as I got to my feet.

"Lady Lucille, I can't let you put yourself in danger."

"I've already been in plenty of danger today, what's a little more going to hurt?" I smiled, I didn't hear anything out of the ordinary or sense any potential threats in the house, Rose had probably just startled herself.

Anders attempted to sit up, "My orders are to prot-."

"The orders I just gave you were to stay put. I'm going to check on Rose." I reached for the door.

"Lady Lucille, at least take a weapon." Anders grimaced, he was too weak to do anything and didn't look happy that I was going on my own. He indicated the dresser next to the door, "Third drawer."

I couldn't likely refuse and say I already had plenty of weaponry on my person. To appease him I bent down and opened the third drawer, there was a plethora of knives and daggers. Grabbing the first dagger I saw that looked like it would fit my grip, I held it up for his approval. He still didn't look happy.

"Be careful." He warned.

I slipped into the hall of the servants' quarters and made my way to the stairs moving silently as I clung to edge of the wall. Sounds of frantic scrambling could be heard in the kitchen below, but it didn't sound like Rose was fighting someone off, it sounded like she was running around. I crept down the stairs and poked my head out of the servants' door.

Rose was running around the kitchen with tears in her caramel eyes trying her best not to scream. She hopped atop a chair with a girlish squeal. Her gaze fell on me poking my head out the door. "Lucy-sama!" Tears streaked down her cheeks.

"What's wrong?" I asked her warily as I stepped into the kitchen once I deduced there wasn't any attackers.

"There was a mouse!" Rose sniffled and I couldn't help but laugh at this.

I clutched my sides as I was overcome with a fit of laughter, "All of this because of a tiny mouse?"

"It was huge!" Rose cried and motioned wildly with her hands to the size of the average dog.

I glanced down as I heard a squeak. Rose let out another scream and clung to the chair for dear life. "Oh, that's not a mouse." I giggled as I grabbed it by its tail and held it up, "It's a rat."

Rose looked like she was going to have a meltdown.

"How about I take him outside." I smiled and set the dagger Anders had made me take with me atop the counter as I made my way to the back door with the squeaking rat in hand. It had started to rain at some point since we'd arrived. The sky was a drizzling dreary grey. The rain was cold and instantly pierced through my blood covered clothing, chilling me to the bone.
